I tried thinking of a specific moment that was most special and memorable, but the whole day was just packed with emotions and so much love.
From the morning I had breakfast with my family for the old times sake, to the moment I got into my wedding dress.
How my Dad and I got all emotional walking down the aisle. The moment I saw Dewan (my husband) at the front of the church, up until we said our vows.
Even with our first dance, or how amazing all the speeches were!
I will forever try to cherish and remember each and every moment of our wedding day on the 14th of September 2018
We went to Mauritius for a week.
We stayed at the amazing 5-star, Shandrani Beachcomber Resort and Spa. We had the most amazing weather and the best experience ever.
I went for a classy and sophisticated look with everything.
I had my dress made as I had this specific look I wanted to go for, and couldn’t exactly find it in stores or bridal boutiques. It was off white in colour (which matched my skin colour way better than white), it had mesh over my back and shoulders with alot of detail from the middle up.
We got married at Cradle Valley Guesthouse.
The venue had more than enough rooms for all our guests who wanted to stay the night.
It really is an exceptional venue and guesthouse.
Our attention to detail has taken comfort, convenience and personal service to new heights. No effort will be spared to make your wedding day a memorable one.
I continued with my Rebounce classes at Donna’s Health and Fitness in Noordheuwel.
And had my teeth whitened at Bryanston Dental.
I actually found my ideas and colours on Pinterest - who doesn’t? ;)
Cradle Valley has an in-house Florist called Suikerbekkie.
They assisted with al the flowers and decor.
The colours were olive green, dusty blue and off-white
My flowers consisted of:
- Greenery
- White flowers and jip
The wine glasses, under plates and candle sticks were all crystal.
There was alot of candles setting a very warm and cozy mood.
The napkins were blue-grey and we had a fern on each.
The name place cards were small wood slabs which we made ourselfes and written each name on by hand.
We had a beautiful ring frame, which they decorated with our theme’s flowers and behind it was the most amazing view of the valley and the mountains. Our guests loved taking photos infront of it while they were waiting for us to finish our couple photos.
The groom looked very handsome in his 3-piece black suit, which, if you looked closely, looked like carbon fibre. He also wore a black tie with a white shirt (Really looked like James Bond :P )
The groom’s men wore grey suits with black ties and shoes, which complimented the groom’s outfit very well.
The bridesmaids had a very soft look with their dusty blue tulle skirts and white blouses.
Our photographers are the very talented Franco and Liani at Light Flair Photography. They have the most beautiful and unique style.
Oh boy are we glad we decided on having a videographer!
We had Shaun at McCrea Media filming the dntire wedding day. He is such a fun and spontaneous guy and made me and the girls feel very comfortable infront of his lense.
We didn’t have a planner, but we had a wedding coordinator from the venue, who was just amazing!
Lauren van der Merwe from Cradle Valley was such a blessing. She assisted with literally everything and made sure our day was perfect.
Our food was made by the venue’s amazing cook! We had a lovely Harvest table, main coarse and deserts!
Our wedding cake was made by Elmarie Hooman from Sugar Rush Cakery. She is really so talanted. She exceeds my expectations every time.
Monique Verwey at Design Love designed an absolutely stunning wedding news paper, which all our guests received upon arrival at the chapel.
It had the following details inside:
- The story of how we met and got engaged
- Table placements
- Dinner menu
- Letters from our parents
- Crossword puzzle
- The songs we sang in church, ect.
We didn’t take any dance lessons.
We chose the song “Darling” from Roan Ash and just winged it when we got there. We had a cloud of dry ice surrounding us while we danced. It looked like we were dancing on the clouds.
Our dancefloor was so full the entire time! Our DJ, Dewyk Pretorius, did a great job in keeping everyone on the dancefloor throughout the night.
It is such a pitty it went by so quickly, but we really did have the time of our life’s!!
