It was a lovely day filled with lots of excitement and laughter.
My highlight was our church ceremony and the lovely message that got conveyed to.our guests. We had the best pastor (Lynette de Beer).
A lot of our family/guests went to her after the ceremony amd told her she saved their marriages of 20 of 35 years today. I couldnt have asked for a better highlight on our wedding day.
Unfortunately, due to my husbands work, we had to come.back home after the wedding. We are currently still saving up for a honeymoon.
I went for a classy/vintage kind of look. Our theme of the wedding was.Beaty and the Beast: A Tale as old as time.
My hair was done by my.sister in law (Esme van der Merwe, from Pure hair and beauty salon in Bloemfontein), make-up was done my my.cousin (Niki De Wet: make-up artist for MAC) and I rented my dress (from Bridal Emporium in Bloemfontein).
ALL my accessories was pearly and silver...because of the vintage theme and also because I just adore pearls.
I went for a cinderella type of look for shoes. It was a very "bling/glittery" type of.shoe. Very comfortable.though (baught it from Novels shoe store in De Aar).
I got married in town. In the NG Moedergemeente kerk, in De Aar. The same churchy mom and dad got married in and also both of my grandparents (which just contributed towards our theme: a tale as old as time...)
The reception was held on a farm, 50km outside of De Aar, called Jules of the Karoo.
Some of the guests did stay at the venue, while others had to drive back after.the reception.
I trained very hard in gym and only ate healthy foods.
I did not have to go for any skin treatment...because I had a healthy lifestyle...it was not necessary to do it.
I did not so any spa treatments...I went for all natural beauty.
Our flowers came from.my.moms cousin (Cape Floral in Tulbagh)
I had roses, proteas and lots of greens in my.decor.
The reception was held in a tent with a fountain and palm trees as centre pieces in the tent. It was.absolutely finominal.
Our table numbers where old clocks. Each table.number was set according to a specific time. Guests had to find their name on a bord and their name was on a keyring which was.part.of their gift.
Most of the decor we did our selves. My mom and dad made a lot of the decor items by themselves and flowers.got.done by my mother in law.
The groom, my stunning husband (Wilco van der Merwe) wore a.tux that got made for him by The Modernist Taylor in Bloemfontein.
Groomsmen wore green buttoned shirts (from markhams) their own black trousers, black shoes, brown leather hats and brown leather bow ties and suspenders (ordered online from The Groom)
Maroon infinity dresses with a twist, made.with lots of.love.by my mother in law.
Publics spokes person and well known women, Lynette De Beer.
Photographer: Roedolph van der Merwe fotografie.
Videographer: Rudolf Visagie
We had a photobooth where guest could've taken some.pics while waiting for the bride and groom at the reception.
The main planned was my lovely mother and best friend Hannelie De Wet
For the wedding car we used my grandpa's old Merc... A collectors item indeed... The engine still got its tag on and everything. A real vintage and old car.
The owners of Jules of the Karoo made all the food: Martisan Theron and her crew.
Goeters en dinge in De Aar
No dance lessons are needed. My husband and I are pretty good at dancing.
We had a DJ, Brakkies from De Aar.
