Our ceremony was one of the biggest highlights of the day, the feeling when I walked into the chapel, we didn't see anything else but each other's faces, nothing else mattered in that moment. It was so intimate and special for us to join as one infront of God. We've both been on such a spiritual adventure and had so much growth in that part of our lives, that it the ceremony meant so much to us.
Our photo shoot, getting to spend some time together in a beautiful setting, in each others arms
Our first dance- we asked our guests to surround the dance floor with sparklers as we danced, our song was produced and sung by my husband, his version of Ed Sheeran's Perfect.
Our honeymoon was to the Greek islands, starting off mainland in Athens, then going to Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini over 12 days, admiring the paradise that each island is and really experiencing all the various regions had to offer. Sun, sea, snorkeling, quad bike riding, sunsets, dinners, beach strolls, hikes, exploring the city.
Our overall look was rustic and forest inspired as we got married in a glass chapel in a eucalyptus forest. We chose green, cream, peach and burgundy to be the main colours throughout the wedding. The reception decor carried that romantic, intimate feel by having hanging greenery above the tables, exposed wood tables and mix-matched cutlery, crockery and chairs and soft lighting.
Hair and make up were done by locals Nicolien Vorster (Nicky's Closet) and CW hairstyling.
Shoes- pastel pink, silicone wedges from Paradise shoes.
Dress- Blanca by Modeca, from Timeless Bridal Couture- the style was mermaid with lace train/hem and illusion lace neckline and back.
Jewelry I ordered from Greece via Etsy, I chose mismatched earrings, they had the perfect combination of delicate gold and pearls, hair jewelry was from Kathleen Barry in Cape Town.
Photographer- Juné Joubert
Videographer- Quake Portfolios (Natascha Pottas)
Florist & decor- Blomster (Michelle Erichson)
Cabbage and Rose Country Wedding Venue in Middleburg.
We had a weekend wedding where guests arrived on the Friday night for a braai, then stayed overnight for the wedding on Saturday and again stayed overnight for brunch on the Sunday morning.
There are very modern homesteads on site that can sleep up to 24 people, enough for the bridal party and close family.
There is a honeymoon suite to die for as well!
Dermatology appointments for microneedling and chemical peels starting months before the wedding- Advanced Dermatology in Silverlakes (Pretoria)
Dental hygienist check up for a clean
Exercise 3-4 times per week, cardio and strength training in order to tone up- Mariette Ceronio from Fitness Adventure in Centurion (Pretoria)
Light sun tanning to get a bit more of a glow following winter
Our decor was done to bring the outdoors inside.
Our venue was on a farm with Eucalyptus trees and tall natural grass. We had red Persian carpets lining the chapel aisle and a pampas grass feature at the alter.
Our reception brought in the greenery through hanging/suspended planks above each table (pepper tree and eucalyptus leaves/branches), as well as paired back floral arrangements including some berries and burgundy flowers and a eucalyptus table runner to bring in a feel of a forest floor. Exposed lightbulbs were suspended from the hanging planks as well, this helped to free up space on each table and allowed our guests to see each other without obstruction. This created such an intimate feel in the room.
My husband and I designed and created an A & L marquee light boxes/letters which stood at the end of our dance floor.
We had a stage at the top of the dance floor for our band to perform.
Chairs, cutlery and crockery were all mismatched along the raw wood tables to create a more relaxed and less formal feel.
Flowers and decor were done by Blomster at Cabbage and Rose
Eurosuit provided rented pants for the groomsmen, to match the groom's suit colour and style, and my husband purchased his suit from them, with an added white shirt and tailoring.
The groom's suit was a bright navy blue with a white shirt, tan brown suspenders and shoes.
The groomsmen's bowties were hand made by the groom himself, they were also navy blue.
Each bridesmaid chose their own dress, with the guideline of a blush/pastel colour.
Pinks ended up being the favoured colour and each dress had a different shape and feel to suit each bridesmaid individually. They purchased their dresses from YDE and The Maiden.
Byron Mans of Word of Life Church, he has been a family friend for many years and it was only fitting
to have him do our ceremony. He was amazing, he brought so much cheer and happiness to the formalities, leaving everyone at ease.
Juné Joubert was our photographer, I just loved her style and it suited the venue perfectly, she had previously shot other weddings at Cabbage and Rose, so she knew the venue and all the good spots for our shoot.
Our videographer was Natascha Pottas from Quake Portfollios.
Our venue's owner Michelle Erichson coordinated the whole day, she did the decor and flowers and the venue
did the food, so having everything under one roof really helped.
I didn't have any as I stayed on site from the Friday night before the wedding.
I simply had to walk down to the chapel in the woods

Anette Smit from Cabbage and Rose Country Venue did our food, everyone loved the flavours she produced.
I personally made my own wedding cutting cake and cupcakes (Red velvet) from a recipe most guests already knew, as I often made them for birthdays or big celebrations.
Our dessert doubled as a thank you to our guests in the form of a sweet table, using lots of "old school" sweets and some personal favourites, packaged in white paper bags
Surita Schoeman from Mojo Junction designed and printed our stationery, her style suited our wedding theme and venue so perfectly and she understood my vision effortlessly.
My husband is a professional latin ballroom dancer, so he choreographed our dance routine, we practiced about 3-4 weeks (not every night) to perfect it, he also did the vocals and produced the song which we danced to- his version of Ed Sheeran's Perfect - we asked our guests to stand around the dancefloor with sparklers to help capture the moment.
Lighting, sound and music was covered by our band and entertainment for the evening- Bernhardt Band from Witbank.
