Marrying Chris on the 15th of September 2018 will be a day that I will never forget. There is something so special about being a Bride. You get so much love on the day of the wedding and all the days leading up to the big day. It honestly is the one day where you are treated like an absolute princess from the moment you wake up. Chris and I decided to have a small, intimate wedding at a venue called Bahri, in Parys. The venue was perfect for what we both envisioned our wedding day to be. Memories of the day include seeing my ''soon to be'' husbands face as he saw me walk down the isle, my gran being there to see us get married and just all the love and support we received from all our friends and family.
Yes - we went to Thailand. We started off in Phuket, then spend a few nights in Ko Samui and then 3 nights in an amazing little island called Koa Tao (My husband took me to the Island as my birthday present while we were on Honeymoon). It was all so romantic and the perfect place to spend our first 2 weeks and husband and wife!
I wanted to keep things as traditional as possible. I wanted a white wedding dress with a long train and a veil. I had my wedding dress designed and made by an amazing lady, Michelle Kok (Something You Bridal). She was such a pleasure to work with and she made my dream dress!
My hair was done by the stunning Jennifer Macpherson (Hair & Makeup by Jen). She came to my house to do 2 trials (one with extensions and one without). I love my hair on my wedding day. Parys gets very windy and my hair stayed in place and beautiful the entire afternoon and evening.
My makeup was done by Jayde Britz (Blush Beauty Boutique). Jayde is not only amazing at what she does, she has such a bubbly personality and she has such a way with Brides. She makes you feel so comfortable on your big day.
We got married in Parys at a Venue called Bahri.
Our family and bridal party stayed at the farm house on the property with us and all our other guests slept at the 2 nearest guest lodges. Doringbos Lodge (2km away) and Lavender Hills (7km away)
Named after our Arabian horse stud and situated in the middle of the Vredefort Dome. A new venue born out of love for horses and weddings and especially our own wedding. ...
I went for a facial about 3 weeks before the wedding which really helped my skin to look smooth and clear on the day. Drank a whole lot of Collagen drinks to keep my skin looking good. Had amazing Russian Volume Lashes done.
We did all the flowers ourselves. My sister and sister-law made my beautiful bouquet!
We wanted to keep it all simple but still beautiful. We had 2 long tables for the guests and a main table for my husband and myself. Our colours were Navy, Rose Gold and Dusty Pink. We had an outdoor dance floor set up and amazing music and lighting by Soundworx.

Chris, the Groom, had his suit custom-made. His suit and waistcoat were navy blue with a white button up shirt and a navy blue tie with white polka dots. The groomsmen and best man wore miss-matched suits, navy suits pants with light grey suit jackets, white button up shirts and dusty pink ties. They all wore tan shoes and belts. I loved the look of our groomsmen!
My bridesmaids all wore dusty pink dresses with rose gold detail which I bought at YDE. We then had the dresses altered to look slightly different and to suit each girls body type. I chose the colour scheme and the dresses and I am so happy because the colours looked gorgeous in all the photos!
We were married by one of Chris' closest friends, Barry Brokensha. This made the entire ceremony so much more personal and it was an absolute honor to be married by Barry.
GDG Photography captured our special day. George and Nikita make an amazing team and have the right energy to be Wedding Photographers. Our photos were everything we wanted and more!
No, Chris and I did everything ourselves with the help of family members along the way.
The venue prepares all the food. Our guests raved about the amazing Harvest Table. We did not have a wedding cake, we went for a macroon tower. Aimee Lloyd Macaroons made the macaroons for us. They were delicious and looks so beautiful!
All our invites and prints outs for the wedding were done by my Uncle. He designed the most beautiful invites for us and had them printed. All invites we given out in person and we had a wedding website with Wix where people could RSVP, choose a meal, book accommodation as well as buy us a gift.
We did not take dance lessons, neither of us are big fans of dancing. We just enjoyed the moment of slow dancing and being close to each other for our first dance. It was a beautiful moment and everyone around us lit sparklers. Soundworx did all the sound and lighting and provided us with an amazing DJ that kept everyone on the dance floor all night.
