Everything and anything we could have imagined to happen on our wedding day definitely did, from a thunder storm with heavy showers in the morning to the bridal suite being overcrowded with almost every curious excited loved one, we had a ball. Guests forgot their outfits, bridesmaids dresses were too long and our flower girls ran back up the aisle after walking so perfectly down it (getting in the way of the bridesmaids and photographer). Me the bride tripped on my dress upon entering the chapel (which had no carpet as I forgot to tell them I was no longer hiring the white one). We all however had only smiles on our face. The rain cleared up and the sun peaked over the top of the beautiful mountains, the cake (which we did ourselves) was absolutely perfectly presented, the guests had smiles on their faces, the reception area looked perfect after my mom and 81 year old gran had come to set up, my son aged 12 was having a ball and then there was my amazing husband, the socialite of note that I expected to be surrounded by buddies the hole day- well he never left my side, not once, and if someone got to close to me he politely shifted them in another direction. I couldn't have been a happier queen seated next to her king at the main table and it showed on both our faces. After knowing that each one of us honestly never expected to ever find that person, who gets you, understands you, your are 110 % comfortable being with 24h7 ,you have patience love and understanding for and will do anything for them. I think our every wish in finding the perfect partner came true and everyone that joined us for the day knew it. The highlight of our night- we pulled our first dance off and the guests joined very obediently on the dance floor exactly when we had asked them to :-) it was the perfect day that continued into the early hours of the next morning with continued love laughter and smiles and the person who danced the longest was 81 year old nana and pops. I will forever try to re live that night by looking at the pics and videos and reading all of our wishes from guests.
We didn't plan on it at first as we were quite short of funds but then to our surprise from those who loved us we were offered full time baby sitting and au pairing from family members and a house at the vaal for us to escape to and then we decided to have a little romantic week end in the heart of Clarens with mountain views fire places the finest wine and stunning road trips. We really never wanted it to end.
My wedding hair.... Well after i had attempted to grow it for 8 months it came out absolutely perfect, My make up was done so well I wished I had my make up artist live with me. My dress I found by accident upon walking past a shop one day, I saw it, I liked it, I tried it and as a gift to me my sister bought it a year before our wedding and my shoes- the last size 4 just sitting there on a clearance sale in the window again as I just happened to pass by. My hairdresser had brought along his partner on the day who ended up being a dress maker and helped us resize the bridesmaid dresses that were too long and my photographer was an all rounder from baby sitting a 3 month old and changing his nappy to fixing odd bits here and there and running to get me water and coke when i felt a bit anxious. I was really blessed with the best.

Ha ha no...... this full time working mom and bride to be who had just started her own business was constantly on the go. No pamper sessions for me
We went for a very rustic theme and tried to keep it plain yet pretty. We did it all ourselves and reduced the cost by more than R10 000.00.
They hired their suits from Bride and Co Clearwater Mall. They looked very smart
Their dresses were made by The Maiden in Pretoria, custom made to fit each bridesmaid perfectly and very affordable, They have amazing designs and colours to chosse from. The bridesmaids looked so pretty
