Spending time with my "specials" getting ready, watching their faces light up as they felt pretty after hair and make up, seeing my dad for the first time - all smartly dressed and ready to walk his little girl down the aisle, trying to keep it together and not cry. Putting on the most exquisite dress of my life and feeling like a princess. Watching my bridal party dance down the aisle to "special star - Mango Groove", and seeing the love of my life at the end of the aisle in tears of joy. The happy faces of my loved ones, the crazy jokes by our MC, our cake handmade with love by my husband, the fairy forest theme of the hall creating a magic unlike no other. The beautiful blue skies and cherry blossoms that seemed to bloom just for us on our special day.
Clarens, Free State for a week. We spent quality time Cuddling in front of a fire in the evenings and exploring the beauty of the area during the day. Relaxing and recuperating from our busy lives in the city.
Ethereal would be the word I would use to describe my look. Some said my hair reminded them of Khaleesi from Game of Thrones, simple and plaited.
My dress was from Bride and Co. A beautiful Champagne coloured A-line dress with lace detail.
I wore my Tiffany bracelet from my now Hubby and a beautiful Sapphire necklace, a gift for the day to match my beautiful engagement ring.
My shoes were my something blue! Small heel with a pointed toe. Navy and champagne lace detail from Zara. I immediately fell in love with them!
My makeup was subtle, not overdone. Enough to enhance what I have and bring out the best in me. I felt absolutely beautiful. More so than I ever have in my life. My makeup artist was Tatum Nethercote.
Waterfall Cove in Muldersdrift. Guests stayed at the venue which could accommodate around 32 people.
Facial at Sorbet using Sorbet products, manicure and pedicure which included a foot scrub and massage.
Theme was rustic forest. This included tons of fairy lights and tea light candles. Each table had a wraught iron candle stand covered in ivy leaves standing on square pieces of glass to reflect the lights. We had lanterns, floating candles, sand, small stones, blue pieces of coloured glass. Pieces of Bark, moss, wooden Reed balls and hearts, pine cones, pebbles, small treasure chests and lace.
The bridal table was placed on a small stage and on either side were wooden stumps decorated in lace and lanterns and moss, carrying our theme through. Behind us, the venue had hung blue fairy lights.
The colours we had chosen were teal, champagne and beige. We incorporated hessian where we could to add that touch of a rustic feel.
Our flowers were simple, white with a variety of green. One of our dearest friends gifted us our flowers, bouquets and Button holes and made it all herself. Nothing fancy. Pretty, rustic and simple. Just as I wanted it.
The groom and his boys wore a light grey suit from Bride and Co. My groom had a champagne coloured waistcoat and matching bowtie made by his mum who sews beautifully. He used buttons on the waistcoat from his Grandad, long ago left us which was a special touch.
The boys had champagne coloured braces and bowties that matched the girls dresses. These we bought from Infinity Dress online.

My bridesmaids wore knee length Infinity dresses. Each wore their dress a different style to suit their body type which is exactly why I chose these dresses. The colours were teal, duck egg blue and sage green.
My flower girls wore the same dress but in an off white colour. All looked stunning!

Shayne Nicolas was our photographer. We were referred to her by a friend. We loved her! So down to earth and from what we've seen of the pics thus far, she captures magical moments. Her personality was relaxed and she kept my guests at ease. The photos didn't go on for hours and she incorporated some of the requests I had made. Her price was also extremely reasonable.
No we did not have a planner. It's more fun doing it yourself! But we did have a lot of support from the venue itself.
Our guests either slept over or used uber. We all got ready at the venue.
My hubby made the wedding cake with a lot of love and hard work!
Food was delicious. Mince pancake to start. Buffet with butter chicken, beef stroganoff, pumpkin fritters (my fav), veggies and a candy bar (that didn't last long).
We did this ourselves! Discovered the creative side to our personalities!
We "winged" it. No dance lessons. Just us two doing our thing. We know a few moves to light up the dance floor!
Our DJ was Eugene from V&E Entertainment. Fantastic choice.
