It was a very memorable day, that just went by far too quickly. I blinked and it was 10pm! The highlights were getting to see friends and family we had not seen in so long as well as the beautiful speeches given to us by very special people in our lives. Getting my dad and brothers first reaction of me in my dress, Our first dance and wedding game were very memorable as well.
We haven't yet booked for our big honeymoon but we did take some time out and had a nice mini-moon in Hermanus after the wedding just to unwind and relax.
I went for a very sexy wedding look. Something to match my personality and also to match the uniqueness of our venue.
My dress was bought from Bride and Co and altered quite a bit to suit my style. My gorgeous shoes were Steve Madden!
My makeup artist was Megan Grant who is absolutely amazing at what she does and my hair was done by a friend.
Other accessories worn on the day were my late grandmother's wedding rings, a tennis bracelet from my brother and some beautiful forever new studs.
We chose to have a local venue so guests could hop in a taxi to get to and from us safely and one that matched our personalities and was something different so we chose The Jack Black Brewery in Diep River.
A few months prior to the wedding I got involved in some personal training sessions at my local Virgin Active. Its been a great start to my new fitness journey! I also knew the day was going to be full of happy tears so I had some beautiful lash extensions done by the very talented Nicola at The Loft Spa in Cape Town.
I decided to DIY most of my own decor. This way I could add my own personal touch on the day and it turned out beautifully and just how I imagined.
I sourced my main flowers, which were king proteas, from Overberg Flora and hired a couple other items from E-Hire.
The lighting, furniture and 'stage' are already so beautiful at the venue that I didn't have to do anything on that front.
We hired all the suits from Eurosuit in Canal Walk. The groomsmen wore suits pants, white shirts and waistcoats and the groom wore all that and a blazer.
The bridesmaids wore burgundy infinity dresses which I sourced from a local supplier in Somerset West. Her store is called Nocturnal Kiss.
We were married at Paarl Home Affairs 2 days prior to the wedding celebration.
Our photographer was the very talented Elri Photography and video was captured by the awesome Cape Video team.

I did not have a planner, I did everything myself! I did receive help from the venue on the day of the wedding as well as my sister in law.
The groomsmen and bridesmaids were all transported in an Uber Black and my brother drove myself and my dad to the ceremony.
Jack Black took care of the very delicious canapes that everyone raved about, the sides for the main meal as well as the ice-cream bar and 'midnight' toasties. There was an external company used for the lamb spit. Our cake was made by one of my bridesmaids.
I designed all the stationary we used and didn't require any printing. made use of chalk boards and email.
We did not take dance lessons as we wanted to be as natural and unforced as possible. We wanted to just be ourselves! We had a band for our canapes who was excellent as always - Dan Shout and Co and we then had a DJ for the rest of the time who was Stefan from That DJ Guy.
