A tale of love beyond borders,Shona meets Xhosa, our journey began Girl meets boy.
We met in January 2012 first day of college, this wasn't your typical love at first sight scenario but our hearts chose each other before our minds had the chance to dictate the decision.
Fast forward to 6 and a half years later, our friendship grew and led to our love story. The hardships we faced brought us closer and happy moments we shared made each day together worth it.
Faith, laughter and hope have been with us from day one we look forward to many more till death sets us apart.
We don't want bore you with the cliche, romantic details of the day :) Let's just say when he popped the question after years of dating ,i ran away like a little girl.
In case you wondering ,i did run back to say yes !
I'm sure with every bride and groom they have a wedding story to share...however , my husband and I believe that our story was heaven sent from our traditional outfits not being ready to having a miracle with the best designer saving our situation , the weather in Cape town didn't look promising and on the day so much sun was shining a little rain shower broke out straight after we were announced Mr& Mrs .
My best highlight was seeing my husband cry tears of joy when he saw me walk down .. I remember leading up to the wedding he kept saying crying is for the weak ...I guess I made him weak after all :)
The second best highlight was how much we danced and Our wedding was not boring at all,we saw Our older generation of family break it down on the dance floor ..that will always be a memory i will cherish forever
We had guests from Dubai,Philippines,USA,Zimbabwe it was great to see a fusion of cultures come together . Friends and Family made the effort and sacrificed to Our special day. Our wedding was the best wedding both families had attended in years..it was a destination dream wedding that everyone is still talking about till this very day!
Unfortunately we didn't have the finances after planning a destination wedding and had to return to work immediately after .
We would love to go away at some point (hopefully soon) God willing :)
My wedding look I really was going for a timeless vintage bride with a modern twist..
Being outdoors I wanted the views and greenery to do the talking and My look I had a flawless fishtail gown from Wed2b London with proteas as My main flower choice.
My hair was styled very last minute by my lovely cousin as my hair dresser didn't show up on the day until a few hours later ...so we had to "wig" it as she said and well the rest is history
My wedding venue was the beautiful Cape Point Vineyards in Noordhoek.
I still cannot believe how gorgeous that place is and the weather was just amazing for the occasion. My husband and I feel so blessed because straight after being announced Mr and Mrs it started to rain light showers of blessings we believe.
Planning a destination wedding is not easy so accommodation played a big factor for our guests to stay near the venue
A big shout out to the following :
Abington Manor. Guest house
Sunset splendor Guest house
Bramley Accommodation
The Burg residence
If I could give any bride advice...ITS YOUR DAY!
Leading up to my wedding I took my time with all the regime's for the day,i generally drink lots of water so I had no issues with my skin.
Loreal skin care collection was my best friend and definitely worked wonders for me .
Ruutos hair salon made sure my natural hair was kept in good condition leading up to the day ,unfortunately I didn't get to style my hair the way I wanted but I would recommend them for any natural hair bride to be.
To be honest with you Ellen Chingosho made the wedding happen ..
If anyone is interested who is based in Cape town I will give you her details and she can work magic.
My husband bought his suit from Dubai in a boutique store and the groomsmen we didn't want them dresses up to much as to look too formal as outdoors is all about being free and embracing your surroundings.
The colors for the gents were beige Chino pants, Brown shoes ,burgundy bow ties and navy suspenders.
My husband wore a navy suit and grey waist coat from Pierre Cardin complimented by a burgundy tie and lapel.
The girls were gorgeous with their Protea flowers and dusty pink dresses and navy dresses from an online store called airydress❤
The girls wore nude heels and they looked stunning !!!
Till this very day every one talks about him.

Naomi Bolton was beyond professional and so caring and accommodating and made it so easy to be around her and be ourselves .
Anyone looking for a great photographer and videographer in Cape town Naomi Bolton is your go to person .
Ellen ...if anyone needs someone who will stand with you till the very day!!!
Ellen ( bethelweddings) she deserves a holiday after my wedding .
From start to finish she made sure I was calm and she went out of her way to make sure that my day was close to perfect if not beyond imaginable.
Hats off to you Ellen ...I'm blessed to have met you
We had a lot of family support when it came to transportation..
Most of the cars were rented from Avis in Cape town.
Catering is one of those things on your checklist that you have to get it done right.
Our wedding was a fusion of 2 cultures (Shona and Xhosa) so we had our reception good done by the groom's mother and believe it or not it was good!
Our guests felt at home and I'm grateful for Cape point vineyards for allowing them to use their facilities and accommodate our dream.
I am a DIY bride :)
So most of the stationery was done by me .
Naturally my husband and I have rhythm so dancing is in our blood and we know how to have a good time .
Words cannot describe how amazing these gentlemen were ..
We had a day wedding so we didn't need lighting but goodness me I would recommend this band to anyone for their wedding ..Our guests were blown away and they played music every one enjoyed and we had a great time with the DJ :)
In 10 years I will definitely use them for my vow renewal
