I will have to say that my most memorable moment looking back at the wedding, Was the moment right before I’m about to walk down the isle. Emotions starting flooding in as the moment became so real - I was about to marry the most decent, gentle, loving and honorable man - the man that God has picked out for me. Tears of joy and appreciation ran down my face my while walking down the isle.
Another very very special moment for me, was my Father-daughter dance. We had about 5 lessons before the wedding to get a basic choreographed dance, but when the moment approached us, my dad forgot all the choreography and wanted to just sway with me and look me in the eye without having to concentrate on fame moves
We have always dreamed of a tropical honeymoon, and decided to go to Bali, Indonesia.
We travelled Bali
First we went to Nusa Chenengan. What a beautiful romantic island. We went snorkeling - we were mesmerized by the beautiful crystal clear water and the colorful sea life and Coral.
We then went to the busy Ubud were we explored the monkey forest, the Bali Zoo and the coffee plantation, oh and the jaw dropping rice fields.
After Ubud, we went to Canggu; a laid back hippy/surfer place filled with mostly youngsters.
I have always liked the classical vs sexy look on a bride, so I went for a mermaid dress. I was told to not go for this style, as it tends to make already short woman, appear even shorter. But, once the dress was fitted on, before it was even half way up, I started crying and knew this dress was the one for me. I loved that it had the "poofiness" I believed bridal gowns should have, and a fitted body. I wore a silver waist belt to draw attention to my waist. Complimenting my dress, I wore a lace long veil, and satin shoes.
My hair i kept simple. Just loose with some curls.
Jewelry I kept small and minimal.
my lingerie I got from Woolworths Bridal collection.

We got married at the magical Spier Wine Estate, located in Stellenbosch. The ceremony was next to the dam, and the Reception was held at the stunning Spier Hotel Restaurant.
6 month before the wedding I started gymming more often and has personal training sessions once per week.
Face: I went for a facial every month. Alternating between Dermapen one month, and RegimA peels the following. These were done at Boudior beauty, situated in Sea Point.
I also bought laser hair removal sessions to not have to worry about shaving when on honeymoon. These were done at Smart laser in Blouberg, and Boudoir beauty.
My decor theme was a mixture between classy and rustic (glass and wood)
flower choices were Proteas and roses.
Colors were Dusty pink and Burgundy.
My husbands late father planted a tree at their house about 30 years ago. His mom wanted to get rid of the tree as its roots was starting to lift the concrete floors. a company was hired to remove the tree and chopped it into slates which was used as part of the decor at the reception. My parents also made our cake stand out of the tree.
Centre pieces and under-plates were tree stump slates. the centre piece was topped with glass jars which has either proteas or roses in them.
Chairs: we used Tiffany chairs at the reception.

The beauty of the fundamental nature of a rustic wedding is that simple touches with a lot of personality can speak volumes.
My husband had his tuxedo made at "the tidy tucks" located in Bayside mall.
The groomsmen wore plain white shirts, with black pants and shoes. The one wore pink suspenders and the other one Burgundy.
My bridesmaids wore off shoulder dresses from YDE. I saw their exhibition at a Bridal Expo at the CTICC. One bridesmaid wore dusty pink, the other one Burgundy.
Our marriage officer was my special brother, Bertie Van Niekerk, from Baptist Fellowship Church in Melkbosstrand.
Our photographer was the talented Michelle (Mich Rae Photography). She did my brother's wedding a few years back and I was happy with how she took images. She is like the family photographer now, hehe. She is soo amazing at what she does and she is so easy to be around, and made us as a couple feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
We did not make use of a wedding planner. My mother had 2 weddings before mine (my 2 brothers) so knew what to do. She did a splendid job :)
Our Ceremony and reception was at the same location, swell as the hotel we stayed at, so we didn't need transportation.
however, my dad organizes an ancient cart for us to sit in and be carried on for arrival at the ceremony.
Our reception was at the Spier Hotel; they prepared and served the food.
Our wedding cake was done by the amazing Wades cakes.
My creative mother :)
we took dance lessons from Samantha Black. We loved the fact that we could get dance lessons in the comfort of our own home.
The DJ company we used was Nitelife productions. Mark. the guy was our DJ, was absolutely AMAZING!
