Luke and I met at a friend's party in high school, I remember seeing him and thinking "they don't make those at our school!" He was gorgeous and for me, it was love at first sight.
To my surprise the following Monday he showed up at our school to start the new term there.
We had a love, hate relationship most of high school because we could never get our timing right but it all worked out in the end and a year after school we started dating. It was finally our time and we knew it was meant to be!
After 12 years of friendship and 7 years of dating the love of my life, we are finally making things official on our 8 year anniversary the 4 of August 2018!
After waiting so long for Luke to pop the question (7 years is a long time okay?) I finally gave up hope and decided that I would rather be with him for good without a ring then be with anyone else and have a ring.
I guess he likes to keep me on my toes because he was finally ready and I had absolutely no idea it was in the cards!
We are rather into our 4x4ing with Luke's Pajero (Vicky, his other girlfriend as she's affectionately known) so I didn't think twice when he organised a 4x4 outing with my parents, sister, best friend and his brother.
We set up a picnic and he asked me to go for a little drive to see if there were some routes he could take my Dad on.
We drove for a bit and to our amazement we saw a pair of hippos a few metres away from our car! He told me to get out quietly and asked if we could take a pic with them. Before I knew it he was down on one knee and he asked me to marry him! I was in such shock I must have asked him if he was joking about 5 times but when I realised it was real I couldn't stop saying YES!
It was perfect!
