The entire wedding day from morning to evening was a memorable moment! It was the best day of my life! From putting on my wedding dress to the ceremony where we exchanged vows, having my friends and family there to celebrate the special day with us. Taking our wedding photo's which was fantastic, doing our first dance as Mr. & Mrs., cutting the cake and smudging it in each other faces... Standing in a corner of the wedding venue looking at everyone who made it so special for me. I can only say thank you to God who made all of this come true.
Unfortunately, we did not go on a honeymoon because we do not have the cash flow at this moment.
My wedding dress was inspired by a wedding gown I tried on at Bride & Co. It was a bit too much, so I had to improvise. I decided to get someone to make this dress for me, with some pictures on Pinterest of another dress, I combined the two dresses into one stunning- gorgeous dress which I totally loved! I wanted to have fairytale wedding hair with a braid on the one side of my head. It was up for the ceremony with curls and I loosen the curls for the venue, giving me the perfect look with my long beautiful hair. My shoes were blush-pink to go with the colour of the proteas and I wore rosegold, light pink jewellery. I had the perfect look for my perfect day.
We got married on a cold winter morning at Tuff Top Lawns & Estate in Bloemfontein. Our wedding venue was held at Bloemfontien Show Grounds later that evening.
Our theme for our wedding was rosegold, navy, blush pink, burgundy, natural wood and leaves, in the winter time.
We had different Proteas on the tables, from King to Queen proteas. We plucked long leaves from a tree to put in the middle of the tables. There were long spider drapings from the roof and with that Drape Inc installed spider fairy lights with the drapings. We cut a tree in slices to put in the middle of the tables and we had a big wooden slice where the cake stood on. There were pink rose pedals in the middle of the dancing floor.
The groom and his groomsman wore 'The Classic Navy Suit' from Eurosuit. To complement the suits they wore brown shoes and belts with the suits.
Our marriage officer was Annemarie. She is an aunt of the Groom.
We looked for a wedding photographer, who love capturing those real moments, moments to remember for many years to come. And we have found her. Mandie Niemann Photography was the best photographer to capture our special wedding day. She is so passionate about her work and she made us laugh a lot! Every photo she took of us was special and she made us feel at ease. we couldn't have asked for a better photographer!
I did not have a wedding planner. My maid of honour Juanita van den Berg, helped me to plan the entire wedding.
Don't know if you know the 1958 Chevrolet Impala? It is a very old, long and wide car with wings at the back. It was red and it shined like a sparkling glass of champaign. It was a dream wedding car! There is a guy (Uncle Louis) in Bloemfontein with lots and lots of old cars... out of more than 300 old cars we chose the 1958 Chevrolet Impala.
My new "Mom" (Mother In Law) & new Sister, prepared a 3-course meal for our wedding day and they made the wedding cake for our special day.
My maid of honour and I made and printed all of our wedding stationery.
The reception was beautiful, we made the reception up from wall to wall. We did not take any dance lessons, the night before the wedding we tried a few dance moves. We did our own music, no DJ or Live band and Drape Inc in Bloemfontein did our draping lighting (fairy lights).
