On 18th January 2017 he took me up to chapmans peak for a drive and we stopped off on the side of the road and we were watching the dolphins in the sea swimming together and I went to sit on a rock and to my surprise he popped the question and my answer was "of course" that was the happiest day so far of my life and I cannot wait for our big day on the 25th August 2018
We are from Cape Town and decided to not do an overseas trip for our honeymoon but rather keep it local, so we took a few days out and went to stay in Rawsonville at a beautiful guest house called Picardi Place. From there we went to all the little towns and and places in and around where we were staying.
It was a really great break away and time for ourselves.
My hair and makeup was beautifully done by a family member and was exactly what I wanted on the day. Was natural with a little elegance.
My dress was bought from Bridal Aisle and was up scaled and transformed to fit my body and to what I wanted.
I wore bling takkies for my bridal shoes, which was purchased from Zando.com. I'm all about comfort and they did their job.
My lingerie , jewellery and accessories were all purchased from different supplies.
Our ceremony was held at Stellenbosch United Church, which we hired.
The reception was at Forest44 in Stellenbosch
My decor was done by the fabulous Limitless Events and was everything I wanted and more.
My flowers were done by Jenny from Blooming Marvelous and looked so beautiful.
Lighting was done by Venue and our DJ who brought some of his own lights with.
The groom aka My Husband looked so dapper and handsome in his C-squared suite, shirt and tie from Carducci
The groomsmen all looked stunning in their suites from Markham.
My bridesmaids wore lovely long dresses with lace purchased from Bride and Co. They also wore dusty pink pashminas that were bought from Shimena Scarfs. For the reception they all changed into denim jackets of their own.
My photographer was Elri Photography.
I originally had another photographer who had already taken out engagement photos, but then contacted me a month before my wedding to let me know that she is unable to do my wedding as she has fallen ill and it affects her vision. I was more shocked that disappointed as that is a horrible disease for anyone to have even more so a photographer.
Feeling a little stressed out that we wouldn't be able to find anyone I then contacted my local radio station KFM and Carl Wastie had contacted me wanting to find out what was happening, he then said he would get back to me after trying to find someone.
When he called me back he had put me in contact with Elri who then became our new wedding day photographer. What an awesome individual she is , we clicked the first time we spoke and met.
I planned my whole day, and just had Samantha from our Venue Forest44 co-ordinate the reception venue area.
We were blessed with 2 VW Passats on the day from friends of ours and we even had personalized plates on saying "Grainger Wedding". That was a lovely touch to the day.
The food was all prepared by the venue Forest 44
The cake was made from Mila the cakeshop.
My stationary designs were done by Marcus Viljoen who was a real help, printing was done by various suppliers.
The reception was so much fun, our first dance was not rehearsed but it was truly magical as that was the moment I broke down in tears. I had kept it all together the whole day but when My husband took my hand to dance with me it was such a surreal moment and I just had tears of joy.
We had a DJ from Nite Flyte Mobile DJ Service.
