Highlights of my day were seeing all our friends, family & my husband as I was walking down the aisle. I was so over joyed that I don’t even remember hearing my song play - all I could think of was that I’m finally marrying my man! I was literally in my own bubble!
We didn’t go on honeymoon yet. We just took 2 days off after the wedding to reflect on a spa day... we’re still planning our honeymoon for next year to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.
We wanted our wedding to be very personalized, simple & elegant. Our colours were rose gold, navy blue and a touch of pink & white.
I wanted a natural look for my make up with just my eyes and lips standing out. I wore blue ear rings that were my mom’s and rose gold bracelet which was a gift from my fiancé.
I wanted a dress that will compliment my body so I wore a white mermaid dress. I got rose shoes which had a little bit of dimante on them. My hair was in a low bun with a curly side sweep.
We got married at Rondekuil Estates wedding venue in Durbanville, Cape Town.
The venue is on a farm so there is self- catering accommodation. We stayed there together with some of our friends and family.
I stuck to my usual routine of washing my face twice a day and exfoliating with a face clay mask atleast 3 times a week.
I tried to exercise as much as I could and I took some immune boosters just make sure my body doesn’t give close to the day! I also made sure I drank a lot of water!
Our deco was rose gold, navy blue with a touch of pink & white. I chose the Protea to be the main flower of the deco aswell as on my bouquet. Our initial plan was to have an outdoor garden wedding but the weather decided to change 3 days before our wedding so we ended up getting a stretch tent with some heaters. We kept our deco very simple and elegant. We had white Wimbledon chairs for the ceremony.
The groom and grooms men had their pants and 3 piece suit (groom) made by Tidy Tucs tailor.
I wanted my bridesmaids to be comfortable and wear dresses that they can always wear again. They wore navy blue dresses from Bride & Co.
Pastor Dan was our marriage officer - he is a pastor from our church.
Jessica E’ Silva captured our day beautifully and we had The Party Technician (TPT) as our videographer. Instead of a photo booth we got a personalized Instagram selfie frame made.
We didn’t have a wedding planner - we planned everything ourselves but our florist who also does wedding planning & co-ordination took charge of the day.
We didn’t need transport because we decided to stay at the venue for the night before & after the wedding.
Our venue provided all of catering & Tihmily cakes made our AMAZING fruit cake!
We met up with Paper Paradise to design and make our stationary. They ensured our personalized ideas were brought to life.
We didn’t take any dance lessons. We compiled a play list for the day and gave it to TPT (The Party Technician) who also did our videography.
We had a marimba band for the cocktail hour while we took our photos.
