One of the most cherished moments that I have of our day: Because my husband is a wedding photographer, I really wanted the privilege of him taking a photo of me on our portrait shoot that I can put up in our house. He indeed did this and this was one of the most cherished moments that I have.
Another very memorable and special moment was when Gavin prayed for us before the wedding ceremony. I was standing behind a door so that we could not see each other and he held my hand and prayed us into the day.

I usually always find out surprises etc, but not this one! My husband had been planning our honeymoon and I had a feeling we were going to Durban or Cape Town as all he told me 2 weeks before our wedding was that I need to pack in bikini's for the honeymoon. At our wedding reception, he whispered in my ear and told me he is taking me to Zanzibar! Our honeymoon turned out to be the best time of my life !

I purchased my wedding dress at Timeless Bridal Couture in Pretoria. Wendy & her team went out of their way to make sure that my dress fit me perfectly. My dress was ivory and lace with an illusion neckline and a keyhole back, designed & made by Modeca in the Netherlands. We added some sparkly beading on the front, a soft belt with crystals, as well as a 3m veil, all from Timeless Bridal Couture.
I purchased my shoes by Forever New....chosen by my husband, which made it so special! This was the only thing he saw before the wedding.
I wore minimal jewellery - swarovski element earrings and a diamante bracelet. I got my Lingerie at La Senza.
My garter was specially custom made for me by my Mother-in-law and sister-in-law. This was specially designed with a blue crystal in it, being my "something blue".
My hair was done by Vivian Koekemoer of Valour-V Hair and Beauty and my Make Up was done by Donique Leonard of Flawless Professional Make Up by Donique.

We got married at the breathtaking and majestic Oxbow Country Estate.
My husband is a wedding photographer and he had previously captured a wedding at Oxbow. He always told me that this is our venue! So when we were venue 'hunting', I arranged that we see Oxbow first and then 3 other venues that I had in mind. The minute we walked into Oxbow, i was in love and we immediately booked our wedding date. Everything about this venue is absolutely PERFECT. There is nothing that I would change! Mariette Vosloo was our co-ordinator and she went out of her way to make sure that every single detail on our day was exactly how we wanted it. 40 of our Guests stayed over at Oxbow, the other guests stayed at venues nearby.

I was extremely blessed by one of my friends who owns a spa. She did Laser Treatment on my skin for 5 months before the wedding and truly pampered me. My nails were done by N&E Hair & Nails in Lynnwood, Pretoria and my Laser Treatments were done by Renu Derm Spa in Moreletapark, Pretoria.
Our wedding colours were white and copper gold, with a touch of greenery. We rented some geometric copper gold candle holders from Decor-D-Zign in Pretoria. We purchased all our candles. My mom made our table numbers, Mr and Mrs sign as well as our guest book. This was very special to me as my wedding had so many personal touches in.
My husband wore a Black tuxedo, white shirt and a black tie from Black Tie in Pretoria....and looked very handsome indeed! ;-) I bought him a pair of camera cufflinks to round off his look.
The 4 groomsmen and ring bearer all wore navy blue suits from Eurosuit, with white shirts and a black tie.
My bridesmaids wore dresses that were made for them by Peaches and Spice in Elarduspark, Pretoria. The dresses were a neutral nude colour at the bottom with a copper gold sequence halterneck top. They had matching earrings and shoes. My flower girl's dress was also made by Peaches and Spice. Each bridesmaid had a King Protea and my flower girl wore a flower crown
Pastor Jerry Niewoudt from CRC Pretoria. Our church plays a very important role in our lives and we were truly privileged that we could walk through this journey with Pastor Jerry who leaded us and guided us. Many people still talk about him on our wedding day and that his words touched so many hearts.
Our photographers were Anriette van Wyk of Kief Kreativ & Heinrich Stofberg. Anriette is a friend very near to our hearts and also my husbands business partner in the photography industry. They captured every single detail of our day and gave us the most beautiful wedding photo's that we will cherish forever.
Our videographers were Heinz Boesenberg and Werner Oosthuizen of Heinz Boesenberg Films. Every time I watch our highlight video, I am brought back into each moment and it feels like yesterday! We had a M4 burnt orange BMW... organised by Piero!
Our food was prepared by Oxbow Country Estate. It was a plated menu which we customised. The most compliments we received on our wedding day was for the food, everybody was blown away by the service of Oxbow, quality and taste of the food!
Starters: Mango, Cream Cheese and Chilli filled Phyllo Baskets topped with shaved Rainbow Trout and Cranberry Dressing
Mains: Mature Cheddar & Mustard stuffed Chicken Breasts wrapped in Bacon served with a Mushroom Cream Sauce and Flame grilled Beef Rump with Mushrooms, Red Onion Marmalade served with a Red Wine Jus. Served with: Creamed Spinach & Pumpkin Fritters and Fondant Potatoes
Dessert: Chocolate and hazelnut mousse
Our wedding cake was made by Baker Boys Confectionery and was blessed to us by my best friend and her parents. We had a 3 Tier Semi-Naked cake. The wedding cake flavours were:
- Bottom tier Decadent Ferrero Rocher
- Middle tier: Amarula & Salted Caramel
- Top tier: Turkish Delight

My stationary was designed by Anriette van Wyk of Kief Kreativ. We combined copper gold geometrics on a soft white background to create the chic, modern look that we wanted. Our wedding invitation was a wedding website which I put together.
The reception was so much fun! The sound and lighting was done by Ruan Kriek of Groove On Productions. Ruan kept everyone dancing till midnight! We did not take dance lessons and we wanted a more natural approach to our dance. Our first dance song was Alan Walker - "Faded"
