Yes we had a great local honeymoon. We started in the town where our loves started and blossomed: Stellenbosch. We stayed there for three days. Then we road-tripped up to Paternoster on the West Coast. We had the best Winter honeymoon ever!!
The wedding look I had in mind for myself was just a natural romantic beauty. Natural make-up and natural colours. My make-up was done by Lisia Smit Professional Make-up. I don't normally wear make-up so I asked her to make a natural look for me using gold and nudes. She used Bobbi brown make-up. My hair was done locally by Natasha Brink. She has been my hairdresser from high school. I always go to her and when I got engaged I knew I had to use her for my hair on my wedding day. She made my hair into a soft curl up-do with a few tendrils hanging around. It was supposed to look soft and romantic with a few greenery pieces in my hair. My wedding dress is from Tying the Knot Bridal boutique. It's champagne with an ivory lace overlay. My shoes were golden glitter low heels. My lingerie was my something blue that I bought at Victoria Secret. My jewellery were all gold with pearls. I wore a Mabe pearl ring that was my something borrowed from my aunt, Noreht Visagie.

Krabbefonteyn Heritage Farm in Elgin, Grabouw.
Only the groomsmen stayed at the venue, the rest of my guests stayed in Grabouw and Elgin at different B&B's
I honestly didn't follow any specific routines before the wedding. I've been to the gym and eating healthily for the whole year before the wedding, but I didn't follow any specific exercise of diet plans. I also didn't follow any specific beauty regimes.
I am lucky enough to have a talented uncle, Johann Visagie (from Gannaga Lodge), who did my decor and flowers. My decor was based on a forest theme, so it was a lot of different greens and browns. The only pop of colour came from lots of proteas and we had different indigenous plants for the greens. We also used a lot of fairy lights and candles. We hired cutlery, tablecloths and glasses from Downing Event hire.
The groom and groomsmen wore blue suits, white shirts and green ties. The green ties gave me such a headache! I looked everywhere for the specific green I was looking for, but I could not find it. It was a week before the wedding and I was on my last nerve when I walked into an Edgars in Tygervalley Mall. I finally found the perfect green tie that I have been looking for, but there was only one. I needed three. I had an employee at Edgars look on their system to see if any of the other branches still have the same ties left. The only Edgards with those ties left was in Sandton, and we were in Cape Town area. We quickly called one of my cousins and she picked up the last two ties for us. We received them the day before the wedding! I am blessed with such a great family that are always willing to help, no matter what.
My bridesmaids wore forest green long dresses with lace tops. It was locally made by Mercia's Devine Connection.

We used Inecke Photography to capture the special moments of our special day. We had two photographers. One was with the bride and her bridesmaids and the other one was with the groom and groomsmen.
No, I did not use a wedding planner. My mom and I organised everything on our own, maybe with a bit of help from different family members.
We were again lucky enough to borrow a white Mercedes from my parents best friend, Dr. Derrick Nöthling, for the bride. The groom and his men walked to the venue and the bridesmaids follow me in one of their cars.
The caterer we used was Dre Johnson Incorporated. They love to use fresh and local produce and products. That is exactly what my husband and I wanted. Our theme for the food was fresh, local and wintery family styled food. We had different wintery canapés for our guest to enjoy with their wintery pre-drinks. For our main course and sides we had it served family style: all the different courses were placed on each table and the guests had to dish for themselves. This way our guests were 'part of' our family, because that is how everyone eats dinners with their families. For dessert we had our wedding cake. Our wedding cake and cupcakes were made locally by Mon Ami Cakes. We based all of this around the idea of a family, because everyone we had at our wedding is considered to be a part of our family.

Caren Malan, a friend of my mother, designed and printed the stationery. Then my bridesmaids and I worked to finish the final product.
We used The Soundlab as our DJ. He did the music and lighting for the ceremony as well as the pre-drinks and reception.
We did not take dance lessons. My husband doesn't dance and I'm only able to dance if the person I'm dancing with can lead very well. I was almost begging my husband to practice dancing with me the week before our wedding, but he said no and that we don't need to practice. He was right, we didn't need to practice. When we danced it was as if we always dance. it was very beautiful and perfect.
