Thirty years was a long time to wait for this day, but in the end we had God's blessings - and He did and is still blessing us
I knew we would sleep over somewhere for the wedding night, but to my surprise my husband booked us in for a week at Marloth Park - a huge surprise
He only gave me 2 weeks to arrange our wedding. I asked God's help and everything fell into place. Mira Kleynhans - whom I met through a mutual friend - borrowed me the dress, our wedding cake was a present from Mira as well ! I decided not to have a specific look, except the color scheme was different pastell colors. My bouquet I made myself. We never got engaged, but he proposed with an emerald earring-and-chain set.
The wedding as well as the venue took place at the Henley-on-Klip Retirement Village, with a great view !
No special treatment prior to the wedding. The day before my nails was done and on our wedding day I just decided to have my make-up and hair done at the same place as my nails - Brainwaves in Meyerton
A lady I met through a friend - Mariette Grobler - did our venue. I gave her some decorations I made prior and she used decor from a previous wedding she planned. The food my husband decided must be Vegetable soup with freshly baked bread from Progress bakery in Three Rivers with sweet dumplings for dessert - and there you have it - a wedding that God arranged, because without His help it wouldn't have been a success!
It wasn't either's first wedding thus we didn't want bridesmaids, etc, but my sister-in-law from Secunda helped me with my dress
Our pastor at Lede in Christus church Duncanville (VEREENIGING) Pastoor Shawn Jansen van Rensburg was our marriage officer - what a lovely sermon
A friend of ours took our pictures - tannie Sannie Reiners
No planner used - I planned everything myself in only 2 weeks - together with lots of prayers
My brother, Christo Nelson, from Secunda was my transport and he also walked me down the isle
The food and venue was done by Mariette Grobler with the help of her husband. Our cake was a present from Mira Kleynhans
I saved the music on a memory stick and my sister-in-law, Lizette Nelson, played it in their usb-speaker.
