My husband and father surprised me with Karin Kortje (Idols Winner 2005) as our entertainment. She is one of my favorites singers, as well as a family friend and I almost fainted when she entered the venue. I was in total shock and could not stop crying (tears of joy ofcourse). This has always been my dream, and my father knew exactly how badly I wanted her to sing my favourite song "Forever and a Day" but we were not able to afford her for the whole evening but he made a plan and got her there.
The other highlight was in church, when we exchanged our vows. That was a magical moment, we wrote our own vows and did not do the traditional vows. It's nice to hear how much your partner loves and appreciates you when speaking from the heart.
We had a Mini-moon, or that is what we call it :) We went to Keurboomstrand for a week, and explored Plettenberg Bay and the surroundings as well as Knysna. The Mini-moon was so nice that we decided to stay over in Oudtshoorn for one night and did the Adventure tour at the Congo Caves.
The night of the wedding we stayed at Casa Mori Farm - BEAUTIFUL place.
Wedding Dress - The Wedding Boutique.
I can honestly say from all the boutiques I visited, this was the best place. Their welcoming, their designs and just the feel you get when you walk into the boutique is not something you'll find anywhere else. I found my dream dress within minutes and ended up buying their one of a kind collections. The look I wanted was elegant but simple, as I am not an over the top kind of girl and that is exactly what I found. The dress complimented my body and my assets, and not once did I feel uncomfortable. The comments just kept coming :)
Hair - Melissa Kahn (Thairapy at Melissa's Boutique)
A very close friend as well as my hairdresser. My hair was in a sleek high bun to make it easier to dance and because I do not like it when hair is in my face. I also knew the weather will be somewhat dreary, and decided on the bun to eliminate any types of panic with my hair.
Shoes - Cotton On.
I love Cotton On shoes, and these shoes fit the dress perfect and I could wear it again after the wedding.
Make-up - Jasmine Bosman (Beauty Buzz with Jazzy B)
Another friend from my hometown, Grabouw, and an upcoming make-up artist. We played around with colours and decided on a clean look but with a wow effect. The gold eye shadow definitely did the trick :)
Jewellery - Lovisa
I did not wear a necklace or a bracelet and wanted my earrings to compliment my make-up and my dress, thus the statement earrings.
Nails - Sorbet
I am not the girly type but felt that this will be the one time I do acrylic and was more than happy with Sorbet Cape Gate.
Lingerie - Laurica Bailey
This was provided by my best friend as a gift.
Our studios based in Cape Town and Johannesburg are fresh, vibrant and above all modern.
After viewing numerous venues, this was our last stop and by far the best venue we viewed. Everything about the venue was perfect, and the fact that they had a fireplace was a bonus. I always imagined having a Winter wedding and the fireplace burning in the background. We couldn't have asked for better; the food, the service, the setting, the fireplace and the atmosphere in the venue with the Chinese lanterns made the day perfect. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted the decor to be like but a big thanks to Hanri from Glee Events for helping and guiding me with everything. We started of with a rustic feel but ended off with a very elegant feel and Hanri was very patient and helpful. My favourite flower is Tulips, and one of the main reason why we got married in August to cater for the flowers that only in winter. We had a wooden block with flowers complimented with rose gold candle holders and glass holders with a touch of greenery.
The groom and his entourage wore Royal blue suits with a brown shoe from Markhams.
The girls wore dressed from Forever New, for the simple reason that the dress will be worn again. We all wore fur to cover our shoulders and this was from Spree. Their earrings were Lovisa as well and everyone had nude shoes that fit the dress.
I initially looked for bridemaids looks on Pinterest, and used that as an example for the girls.
Our Marriage Officer was my husband's grandfather who is a priest and this made the ceremony and the day more special. His name is Harold Prince from East London.

Our photographers are very young and trendy, and we as the couple did not want your ordinary type of pictures. We wanted something out of the ordinary and thy were able to do that for us, as shown in our pictures. We did not have a photobooth but a photo corner with props to keep the guests busy.
Videographer - RTM videos (Lance)
We had one videographer and he did a fantastic job. Every little detail of the day was captured, just what we wanted.

We had a 16 seater Sprinter from Gaffley's Coach Tours (Our family business) to transport the guys to church, and my Godfather was my transport. After the ceremony, the whole entourage got into the sprinter and that was our ride to the venue.
Our wedding cake was a Sushi Cake, we are not big on sweet stuff and absolutely love sushi. This was made by Glee Events.
The Canapes, Mains and Dessert was made by Forest 44's chef.

My husband designed our stationery and that was his task for the wedding.
The DJ was DJ Alley, she provided us with lights and all the other sound equipment.
My husband, Charlton, is not a dancer so there was no way we were doing dance lessons but jazzed for our first dance and little blues.
As soon as the dance floor opened the party went wild. This was when Karin surprised me and sang a few songs to set the mood and let the party start. Everyone was in awe of her performance. We closed the venue just before 01h00 the next morning.
