The highlight of my day was definitely seeing my amazing husband when the church doors opened. It is an incredible feeling no one can describe! I loved every second of my special day from eating breakfast, getting ready, the wedding, photos and of course great party afterwards.
We did. We went to Phuket, Thailand. It was amazing!
My wedding look was very elegant, but classic. I do believe in the saying "less is more". My dress is an original Justin Alexander design, my shoes are from Schutz, my Maid of Honor (Shandre Nieuwoudt) did my hair, a good friend and amazing artist Candice Roberts did my make up and my accessories are all from Lovisa.
We got married at Florence Guest Farm, Chrissiesmeer, Mpumalanga. Our guests stayed over on the venue and guesthouses surrounding the venue.
I knew that I needed enough sleep as step number 1 as I get stressed out very quickly. I just continued doing my Crossfit every morning, but started training a little bit harder than I usually do to look amazing in my dress. I did a teeth whitening treatment named Zoom 1 week before the wedding and I must say, it did a great job looking at the photos, I really do see a difference.
My decor and flowers were al done by Myrtle floral design & styling, they are in Centurion. I didn't want anything over the top, I wanted something plain, but yet elegant. Our venue actually already did all the work for us, it was just stunning! My stationary was done by a friend, Anneli Steenkamp and name tags done by FK Woodwork. I didn't rent anything, the rest I got from the venue.
The groom and his groomsmen got their suits from Woolworths. His shoes are also from Woolworths.
I have always been a big fan of my wedding colors - burgandy, grey and rose gold. Their dresses are burgandy Hoiden originals and I think they looked amazing! Their shoes are from Zando, we ordered online. Their accessories are also from Lovisa. Again I wanted something for them that was plain, but elegant and I think they pulled it off! They are all beautiful girls.
Pastor Malcolm Immelman. We have known each other for a very long time. His daughter and I have been friends since grade 1.
Our photographer was Aline Strydom (Aline Photography) and videographer Heinz Boesenberg (Heinz Boesenberg Films). They were just amazing!! I couldn't have chosen them any better. They made us feel so comfortable and looking back at the photos and video I am so happy that I chose them to capture our special day. We didn't use a photobooth, we had props at canapés and my cousin just snapped a few shots of the guests.
No, the venue gave me the most amazing lady, Thembi. She works at Florence Guest Farm.
We used the car on the venue, it also matched perfectly with my wedding colors.
Our food was prepared by the venue, the guests couldn't stop raving about the amazing food! My husband went hunting and him and his best man made our biltong cake themselves, the really surprised me, it was stunning!
A very good friend, Anneli Steenkamp.
We didn't take any dance lessons, we actually just chose a song and improvised on the day. We have been dancing together for 3 years and we didn't feel like we needed lessons, it was so fun. We used a DJ, his name was Franna and from Nitelife Productions, great choice. We had the best reception, danced all night long and continued the party outside at the fire when the venue closed.
