We met each other through friends 2 years before we turned our spark into a flame. Without me knowing it, Steven was always keeping an eye out for me on social media even though we didn’t have any other contact with each other. One day he saw on Facebook that I was a bit down and messaged me. We started talking again, at first just as friends. I didn’t see him as boyfriend material, let alone husband material. He was a friend and i liked it that way seeing as i just got out of a bad relationship. He came to visit and we talked for hours, keeping my mind at bay, we lived on a small farm in the Vaal Traingle. Steven and I decided that we are going to climb our water tower and just relax and look at the stars. As he lightly touched my hand i looked up at him, he smiled and i knew at that moment i found my Mr.Right.
Country 21st. It was the day of my 21st birthday party. Steven always said he would never ask me on my 21st because its a cliche and everybody does it. As he told me, it was the moment when everybody did their speeches that he decided that this was the perfect day to ask me. I was suspicious at first and thought that he actually was going to ask me but as he did his speech it never came up. So I put it in the back of my mind and knew that he will ask me when he feels he’s ready. We went on with the party and I saw Steven going around to my parents, and i told my friend that he is asking them permission. She reassured me that he is in fact asking permission but that he’s not going to ask me today. As the night went on, I heard Steven best Friend call me to the front, and as i was approaching the stage all my friends were gathered at the front, Steven’s best friend said that he just wants to say a few things and he really spoke like a true friend would speak about another friend. My back was turned on the rest of the crowd, and I was held tightly in place by my other friends. At that moment I didn’t think that they were holding me in place so that I wouldn’t turn around. Steven’s friend then said that i sould turn around and look at all the people that love me to death. I turned around and there Steven was kneeling in front of me and asking “Will You Marry Me” ? I couldn’t speak as i was blown away, i just nodded yes and that was that. Engaged at last.
We had a cake smash competition. The one who raised the most got the cake in the face, and of course I won, but my HUSBAND compromised and said he will cake smash with me and so we both ended up with the cake in our faces.

My Hair was in a up-do with a lot of bling and glitter to go around :D - Hair was done by Jeanice and Salon Juanette
My Make was air brush foundation, with a smokey eye and gold to accent the smokey with a blush lip and some lash extensions for that extra effect. - Make up was done by Michaela Benn from Michaela Benn Makeup.
My Dress was very romantic and soft flowing with the most beautiful sophisticated lace for the top part. I had this lace Decal that was on my Christening dress which my grandma made and my mother sewed that decal into my dress on the inside close to my heart so that my grandma could be with me on my wedding day as she passed away a few years back and wanted her to be with me and a part of my special day. My dress was also a completely big gift from one of my mothers friends and was made by her dress maker Lynette Mouton.
I got married in Cowboy Boots :)
My earrings where something borrowed from my mother and my hair accessory was given to me by my mother.
