Sjoe, there are so many specail moments!
Waking up that morning I was extremely calm and I said a prayer to God whilst drinking coffee and watching the ocean.
The fun moments with my moms and bridesmaids whilst getting dressed!
Walking down the aisle with my dad he kept on telling me (“Skat, loop stadiger jou ma gaan met ons raas ons loop te vinnig) how my dad calmed me and helped me to swallow the tears.
Seeing the man that I am going to share my future with, seeing his face when he saw me. Priceless moment!
My husband, Kevern’s sister couldn’t attend the wedding so we had a live stream video so that they can be part of our day. His parents didn’t know this, tears of joy was shared by us all when we did the toast on them.
I was also surprised with 2 videos of very close friends that also couldn’t attend.
The staff did a traditional dancing with us where we received a rose of blessings from each one. We also later shared a dance together “footloose”
Kruger National Park - Amazing!
Every girl dreams of her wedding day. It has to be perfect from the dress, to the shoes and of course the groom! Well I got more than I dreamed of!
Lets start with the dress. I wanted a mermaid style dress with an open back and a bit of lace. I tried on a few dresses, I eventually found my dress in Humansdorp at House of Chic. I only tried on two dress, the owner was amazing, she listened to what I wanted! to find the dress! When I tried on the dress I got the butterfly feeling and tears. I knew it was the one!
My hair had to be an elegant updo (wind in St Francis Bay is very unpredictable) and I wanted to not worry about hair that is not in place. Makeup had to be natural and Marike De Groot did an excellent job!
My earings was a gift from my mothers and bracelet from my bridesmaids.
Shoes was the last thing I worried about, two days before the wedding I only bought my shoes, being tall, heels was changed very quickly to comfortable white lace flats.
We tied the knot at a venue very close to our hearts.... St Francis Links!
We both work at St Francis Links, I am the wedding co-ordinator and everyone said but why get married at the place you work? My reply was easy - daily I am reminded on all the special moments we shared. Also the staff is very special to us, they got to share in our day and made it unforgettable for us. I normally make sure that the couples days is unforgettable, this time round the staff did this for me and WOW they pulled out all the stops and made it the best day in our lives so far!
I recall saying I will never be a bridezilla, well I had some moments and even during those moments they just smiled and made it happen.
Because it was a day time wedding, most guests travelled back to PE my hometown.
Fabulous Functions did our decor. Our theme was rustic elegant. We had wooden tables with burgundy and navy as the color scheme. I love burgundy and this color fits perfect with a winter wedding. Each table had a table name that hung from the venues white roof above the table with flowers around the name. We opted for no chair covers and used the venues restaurant elegant
chairs. Next to our dance floor we had white lounges for the older guests to still be part of the festivities. The lighting in the venue was romantic fairy lights.
Our cermony was outside on the lawn at the venue that overlooks St Francis Bay and the ocean. It was spectacular!
They wore navy suits that was rented from House of Chic as well. Instead of flowers for the coursages we did names.
The groom had a different under jacket and tie to stand out.
As a gift we gave the grooms men cuff links with their names and our wedding date on. They also got a hip flask with word of thanks from the groom.
The color was dusty pink. Each bridesmaid looked different and unique in a style that they prefer. The dresses was bought at YDE.
Andrew Vena. We wanted a service that is powerful but also fun. He was amazing.
Red Velet Photography! She did both video and photography. I wanted natural photo with very little editing, I loved what I saw on her website. I have worked with a few photographers and this year for most of them was a jam packed winter schedule. I took a chance by trying someone new and I have no regrets. She captured each moment for us.
We didn’t do a photo booth, each table had a disposable camera for guests to take photos and capture moments that the photographer might have missed.
No. I plan weddings as part of my work so wasn’t needed as I knew what to do etc. my bridesmaids and two moms was involved with every aspect of the planning for our special day!
I always said I won’t be Bridezilla but I think at some stage I was one, but my bridesmaids was cool and calm and was amazing in making sure that all was in place for our special day!
We used our own vechiles as the cars would not have been seen by guests.
We did have some fun moments on the golf carts.
Catering was done by the venue. The Head Chef Jonothan Hodder and his team outdid themselves.
We had canapes after the ceremony with wine , hot chocolate and beer stations whilst we took photos.
For Main course we had Lamb Shanks with mashed potato, cauliflowe mornay and being Afrikaans we had to have pumpkin fritters
My bridesmaid Liezl did the design work as it was printed at local printer.
Cinema Synergy did our sound and lighthing, they where also the DJ’s. We had soft fairy lights draped in the venues white high pitched roof.
Mmm... both of us is not big fans of dancing, my bridesmaids helped us a bit with this. We where both nervous but on the day we just relaxed and enjoyed the moment. We danced to “Vir My Gemaak” from Joe Foster.
