Our entire wedding day was the most magical and memorable day of my life! I got to experience my fairytale wedding getting to marry my prince-charming, my best friend, my high-school sweetheart and the person that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with.
There were many memorable moments that highlights our big day and these were some of them to name a few;
~ Since I was a little girl, my dream came true the moment I got to walk side-by-side down the aisle with my father.
~ Seeing my husband for the first time with the tears rolling down his face once I had walked down the aisle in my Princess style wedding dress is something I will cherish forever.
~ My excitement to exchange wedding vows and say “I Do”.
~ Walking out of our wedding ceremony officially as husband and wife to “Forever Now” by Kirsten Bush.
~ The moment we walked into the wedding reception and seeing all the love from our friends and family whilst we were announced as Mr and Mrs Sequeira.
~ Our first dance, which was the start of a celebration for endless love, life and happiness.
We experienced and travelled to a beautiful island getaway in Zanzibar. We stayed in a 5-Star Hotel & Spa called Gold Zanzibar (www.goldzanzibar.com).
It was the perfect holiday after our big day to relax and unwind after planning our entire wedding day. It also gave us time to take in all the excitement and realise that our dream had become a reality.
We spent quality time together, sipping on cocktails, sitting on a pure white beach, soaking up the sun and going on boat rides. The highlight of our honeymoon was ticking off something new from our bucket list and that was getting to swim with turtles.
WEDDING DRESS
I got the perfect, classy and sophisticated Oleg Cassini Princess wedding dress from Bride and Co (www.brideandco.co.za). Before we had even found our wedding venue, my mother and I walked into Bride and Co together and after trying on exactly three dresses in the style I liked, I absolutely fell in love with my beautifully hand-embellished wedding dress. A month before the wedding I got my dressed tailored smaller to fit perfectly for my wedding day.
WEDDING SHOES
I had three pairs of wedding heels to decide from on the day (it’s sounds crazy and perhaps I have something in common with Carrie Bradshaw from Sex In The City). They were all so beautiful which made the decision quite challenging and I had to call upon my bride-tribe to help with the decision. My first pair of wedding heels was perfectly matched for my wedding dress by Oleg Cassini (www.brideandco.co.za). My second pair of heels was a classic nude ‘Monolo Blahnik’ style by Dune London (www.dunelondon.com). My third pair of wedding heels were the perfect pair of shoes to dance the night away in and were completely covered in swarovski crystals. It was most certainly a show-stopper, with love from Forever New (www.forevernew.co.za).
HAIR
Our hair was beautifully styled and curled by Tish Jooste (https://web.facebook.com/Tishhairandmakeup/?_rdc=1&_rdr). She also added the perfect touch of colour and highlights to my hair for my wedding day.
MAKE-UP
Our make-up was done by the most amazing Gabriela Raad (Instagram: @gabiraad_mua). We went for a neutral and natural look that enhanced our beauty.
ACCESSORIES
I wore a beautifully embellished necklace that was from my mother and resembled my ‘something borrowed’. I wore a very special swarovski crystal bracelet from my husband which he gave to me as a gift on our wedding day (www.swarovski.com/en_GB-ZA) and to accompany this bracelet I wore a handmade wired bracelet with accent pearls and crystal beading.
We got married at Oxbow Country Estate. A wedding venue that seemed so unreal and was honestly beyond breath-taking! It has the most beautiful yet chic indoor and outdoor area with lush gardens and certainly made all my fairytale dreams come true. Not to mention, the cascading staircase for all brides to make a grand entrance before you enter a White Garden Pavilion to say your ‘I Do’ whilst being surrounded by meandering dams.
An important factor when we were looking for our wedding venue was to find a place that had accommodation for my big family and my even bigger Portuguese family. Oxbow Country Estate was there to save the day, with enough rooms to accommodate everyone!
We also had the most amazing wedding co-ordinator, TJ that was as much of a perfectionist as I was and made sure that everything ran smoothly. All he asked was that my bridesmaids keep me calm and make sure that we sip on Champagne.

My bridal regime leading up to the wedding involved eating as healthly as possible and making sure that I went to the gym weekly. I also ensured that I exfoliated my skin daily, put a face mask on every week and used skincare products that would moisturize my skin as well as keep it free from any flaws. I used a home teeth-whitening kit so that I could have shiny bright pearly whites. Before the wedding, I got my hair done by Tish Jooste and then I went with my beautiful mother to get my nails done at Sorbet.
The inspiration behind our colour scheme is my love for very classical neutral tones and my favourite colour palette of white and light grey shades. Since I was a little girl I knew exactly what I wanted when I got married and what our wedding would look like. A lot of my other décor inspiration came from my flair of being creative, my Maid of Honour called me “DIY Queen” and couldn’t believe how hands-on I was with absolutely everything (from our Save-The-Dates, Invitations, Menu’s, Setting Arrangement, Welcome Signs, Our Personalised Wedding Sign, Guest Book, Guest Gift Champagne Bottles – the list goes on). We can now thankfully welcome 'I Do Creative Designs' (www.idocreativedesigns.com).
Our wedding decor could not go without with beautiful flowers placed around our wedding venue by Oopsie Daisy.
From our bridal bouquets to the groomsmen's handmade lapels, as well as the round ball-shaped flowers on shepherds hooks down the aisle, a touch of greenery and white flowers over the arches of our Garden Pavilion and including our big round centre pieces on our wedding reception tables. It was beyond breath-taking!
The sparkle of our wedding décor, was a personally made 'I Do' Wedding Sign that lit-up beneath the night sky and through the glass doors to our wedding reception. It was a picture-perfect piece for all our wedding guests including my hubby and I!

The Groom and Groomsmen wore tailored suits by Sacoor Brothers (www.sacoorbrothers.com/en/). Their white collared shirts were from Country Road (www.countryroad.com.au) and shoes were from Polo (www.polo.co.za).
Accessories namely socks and bowties were custom-made.
My Bridesmaids wore Designer dresses from Young Designers Emporium with a touch of crystal hand-beading over the lace detail in the front (With love, from the Bride). Their beautiful heels were from Studio W at Woolworths.
Our marriage officier was Zirk Jansen from Weddings Galore (www.weddingsgalore.co.za).
Stella Uys Photography (www.stellauys.com) captured our special day! She is incredibly talented and did both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. Our engagement shoot was done at Pretville which was a fun, 80's inspired venue with diners and vintage cars. We couldn't have asked for more amazing images to capture our high-school sweetheart love for each other before our wedding day.
We were super excited to have Stella and her husband take our wedding images. It was definitely not a difficult decision to decide that Stella would be perfect to capture our fairytale and through her lens she made beautiful dreamy images that were simplistic yet elegant. Thank you Stella! X

We had an amazing live singer, Emil Struwig (www.emilstruwig.co.za) which we had found at the Bridal Expo. He performed for our wedding guests after the wedding ceremony, during canapes and then did another set after dinner to open the dance floor.
