There were so many highlights and memorable moments that it is hard to choose!
One of the highlights was the ride to the church with my sister. It was so special to have her with me in the car!
Then there is the moment when I walked down the aisle with my dad to meet Wiehann. My nerves were on an all-time high, but once I started to walk down the aisle all the nerves disappeared.
Another moment I would always remember is our first dance. It was something I looked forward to all day and even though the nerves where there, we glided over the dance floor with ease and no hiccups!
This is going to sound so cheesy, but I wanted to look like royalty!
I wanted an A-line dress because I know this particular style would have suited me the best. The dress was ivory and it had the most beautiful lace-work on the bodice. The sleeves were just beautiful and were exactly what I wanted. The dress was made by the special team from Bridal Inn in George and they did a wonderful job!
I wore minimum jewelry because I wanted the dress to be the 'centerpiece'. My earrings were from Lovisa and are also in a classical style. I wanted something that I could wear over and over again, thus I choose something simple. The hairpiece and veil I rented from Bridal Inn as well.
I wore shoes that I had for many years and they were so comfortable. I bought them at Ackermans a long time ago.
My hair was done by Adriana Robinson from Salon Petite. I would describe the hairdo as romantic and soft with the curls that were pinned up at the back! I loved it
Christel Reid from Christa's Skoonheid en Haarkliniek did my makeup, and she brought my vision to life. I wanted something that I would wear every day and would enhance my eyes. I think she did a great job!
We got married in the NG Moederkerk in Oudtshoorn and the reception was at the Colony Restaurant. Some of out of town friends and family stayed the night at the Queens Hotel and it was lovely. The hotel's breakfast the next morning was fantastic!
I would describe the decor and flowers as luxurious but simple with a touch of old world charm!
I always wanted something totally different from the norm, thus we went with maroon tablecloths for the guests' tables and a white tablecloth for the sweetheart table. The rest of the decor pieces was gold and the tables had two King Proteas on each.
I am so grateful towards my Mom who made the tablecloths for the wedding. I loved how it turned out.
The decor and flowers were done by Johnita Marx Verhuurings. Other decor pieces I borrowed from my Mom's and family member's homes.
Wiehann also wanted something different from the traditional black or navy suit. So he went with a burgundy jacket (that we rented from Paarl Suit Hire) and black pants (from Woolworths). His tie and shirt are also from Woolworths.
He wore shoes that he had and most of his accessories he bought long before the wedding from Wish and Aliexpress.
The best man rented his suit from Paarl Suit Hire as well.
My sister was my Maid of Honor and she looked gorgeous in her dress from Hoiden Bridesmaids. We swapped the sash that came with the dress with a rhinestone sash to give it more bling.
She wore her own shoes and jewellery and she looked perfect!
Melissa Verwey Photography and Video Productions was our photographer for the day. She did an amazing job and our photos are beautiful.
Our special day was also captured on video by Cronje Productions which came out great.
Both of these professionals are from Oudtshoorn, they are affordable and I would recommend them to anyone!
The reception was held at The Colony Restaurant, and thus they provided the pre-snacks, pre-drinks and the main course for the evening.
A dear friend of our family made the wedding cake! It was a very moist chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Yum!
I designed and made (with the help of my sister and mom) all of our stationery and I loved every moment of it. I got the print work done at my mom's and aunt's workplace.
I bought the paper and envelopes from PNA and I used Jax Wax for the seals on the pocket envelopes.
Our reception was great. Everyone had the best time and we got so many compliments! My husband has his own sound system and thus we used that. My sister-in-law was in charge of the playlist and playing the right song at the right moment. She did a wonderful job!
For our first dance as husband and wife, we took dance lessons at Absolute Dance Studio in George. We used Ed Sheeran's song Tenerife Sea and I loved how it turned out!
