Magical Moments

My day of getting ready started with a poolside brunch with my girls. Each presented me with a gift. Something old something new, you know how it goes. The best part was a locked to tie around my bouquet with a picture of my Dad. Even though he was gone he'd still be with me. My Mom walked me down the isle and as I reached the top of the stairs my heart started pounding. I was so nervous. My mom tried to calm me... There he was my soon to be husband waiting for me. That didn't help as tears filled my eyes and as I tried to breathe through it all I couldn't wait to reach him. This was the beginning of a new chapter for us. We were married on our anniversary, our 11 year anniversary. The entire day was memorable...

The Honeymoon

Unfortunately not. I started a new job a week after the wedding. We did however do a mini moon at the 5 mountains lodge and port owen, a gift to us. We relaxed for the weekend into my birthday. And both ended up sick in bed with the flu. Marco blames me as the days leading up to the wedding I was busy and thus was run down. We do wish for an unbelievable getaway and hope we win this one :) God willing

My Special Day

I loved everything all white and classic. With different shades of pink in our flowers. My hair and make up was done by a good friend Yulin Carelse. The dress inspired by a modern take on a vintage dress I admired. Shoes by Daily Friday and Steve Madden. My reception dress was an old Hollywood style. Accessories by Zuri very subtle though. Marco wore a Carducci and Fabiani suit. His mom works for House of Monatic and of course he was kitted with the best. The groomsmen hired their suits from Mr Suits.

The Venue

Our venue was magnificent. Neo venue Kleinevalleij. Beautiful white venue, green gree grass, mountain and a gorgeous lake.

My Mom, bridesmaids and I stayed at the Dunstone Manor in Wellington and the guys stayed at 5 mountains lodge. If there's one tip I can give, staying closer to the venue makes everything so much easier. So save up and make sure you add that to your list.

Wedding Elements

We used Goeters who provided a great service. Margo assisted us and provided so many options and advice for the day. From lights to tables, they have it all with exceptional services to boot.

Our florist Joy Bestman (search on facebook) did the most incredible and romantic flower arrangements and bouquets.

Marriage Officer

Pastor Mark September was the marriage officer. He guided us in our preparation classes as well. Marco's Dad Godfrey Bennett is a pastor was well and assisted in the proceedings which was so special. The benediction was co conducted by Pastor Carl

My Captured Moments

Nikolas Polzenhagen was our photographer and videographer's was the Popped Red Balloon. You can see by the images and video link below, we chose well.

Food & Cake

Food was prepared by the talented Slippery Spoon.

Yvette Smith (one of my matrons of honours sister) created our beautiful cake. Three tiers the bottom chocolate, the middle red velvet and the top vanilla.

The Reception and Entertainment

We practiced a dance from the movie Enchanted. When I first watched it I knew this would be the dance. Showed it to Marco and he was prepared to make my dream come true. We didn't practice enough since some areas was a flop I hope our guests missed that. We enjoyed it though. Made for some good laughs.

Our DJ was Cape Town's very own Grant Lesch. You must recognize him from good hope FM. Grant was the best
