My Wedding Day was the most magical day ever imaginable. My entire family pitched in where they could, eg: My 1 cousin was the make up artist; another cousin did our anti nuptual contract; a good family friend did all the decor as well as the girls nails; my sister in law and her hubby played music while everyone was seated for the ceremony. All who could offer their services did. Their was so much love and happiness throughout the day. It was literally the most relaxed day, with so much laughter
We went to Thailand for our Honeymoon. We were there for 3 weeks in total touring all the islands. It was wonderful. And every hotel upgraded us (free of charge) when they found out it was our honeymoon. It was a lovely experience and we met so many wonderful people.
My Wedding dress was champagne in colour; had a sweet heart neckline in the front, with a peep hole back. It was gorgeous and just perfectly made for me. When I went to the shop to find it, It was literally the first dress I tried on. I showed the assistant ideas of what I wanted, and she went upstairs and fetched this once off designer dress, and it was perfect.
The bridal party make up was done by my cousin, Leah. She owns a spa in jhb, and offered her services as a wedding present.
The bridal party hair was done by "Hello Beautiful" owned by Kerry Malcolm. I had a beautiful up style, while my bridesmaids all had dutch braids and curls.
I ordered lace bridal ballet shoes, as Im not one for heals, (nor would heals work with our outdoor ceremony). They were amazingly comfortable, and matched perfectly in colour to my dress.
I'm not one for lots of jewellery, so I literally only wore my engagement ring, small heart shaped diamante ear rings, and a flower hair clip.
I truly have never felt more beautiful then on my wedding day.
We got married at Macnut Farm in Bothas Hill, KZN. Its a beautiful venue. We had an outdoor ceremony in front of the river. They have the smallest chapel in KZN, where we signed our marriage register. Their gardens are absolutely breath taking, so our photos came out stunning. Then our reception took place in their converted barn.
Paul and Hannah, (owners of Macnut farm), were incredible to deal with. And very accommodating. Hannah made all the food herself and it was delicious!
They have 4 rooms on the premises, which I booked out for my family. My friends from university who traveled far, I paid to stay down the road at a b&b. But we chose a local venue so majority of our guests could safely drive home & not have to pay for accommodation. (Wedding are very expensive for both the bride & groom, as well as the guests, so we tried to keep costs as low as possible for all involved)

I went for monthly facials, starting 3 months prior to the wedding. I also did weekly facial scrubs and ate as clean as possible. Although I didnt diet (zero will power on my behalf) We normally eat quite well, with lots of fruit smoothies, green vegetables and salads, etc. I'm a sucker for chocolate so I cant say I dieted.
I had a personal trainer who I saw once a week, starting 4 months prior to the wedding. Although this was mostly just so I could tone up a bit, as Im not a "big" person by nature. He gave me exercises to do at home, which I did on average 3 times a week, as well as riding my horse 3 times a week, and walking my dogs everyday.
My hubby and I are very outdoorsy People and so are quite fit to begin with.
The week leading up to my wedding I spent at my favourite spa, Waterfall nail and beauty. I had massages, waxes, facials, nails, and plenty of pampering done. It was the most relaxing time being pampered so much.
My hubby grew all our succulents himself, and made the most beautiful natural centre pieces. He also grew all our thank you gifts himself, which were little succulents.
Elise, a very close family friend did the rest of the decor for us. It was all natural with hesium table runners and chair tie backs. Our colour scheme was navy so we had navy ribbon as well.
Our venue did all the draping and fairy lights.
The groom and groomsmen all wore navy.
My hubby had a navy suit, with navy shirt and tie, and tan shoes. He looked very handsome.
The groomsmen had navy pants, white shirts, navy ties and tan shoes.
My bridesmaids all wore navy infinity dresses which I ordered from infinity south africa. I ordered them on line, and they arrived almost immediately, perfectly to size, and beautiful quality.
We had Beulah Haasbrook as our marriage officer. She was amazing. Did a beautiful ceremony, as well as took care of getting our south african marriage license as well as our international one.
We used Gaylene Diedericks from Wild soul photography as our photographer. She is fairly new to the wedding industry, but wow did she do a fantastic job. All our photos were so natural. She caught every moment perfectly, without making us all stand and pose awkwardly. She did our engagement shoot for free, and had our wedding photos up in a matter of days after our wedding.
Our videographer was Steven Jarret, from KZN productions. He caught every moment perfectly. Even had a drone to catch the ceremony from the skyline. He asked for our own playlist to use as background music for the video, which made it more personal. Our video was ready in a matter of weeks, and he dropped it off personally at my work. What a pleasure to deal with.
I was my own wedding planner. I made time lines so that everyone knew what had to be done and when. Delegated tasks where need be. And everyone was very obliging
As everything occurred at the same venue, we didnt need wedding transport
All meals were prepared by Hannah Paine, the owner of the venue. It was absolutely delicious. We had a buffet style dinner. Butternut soup for starters, Roast lamb, chicken casserole, beef strogonoff, salads, roast vegetables; followed by chocolate mousse for desert.
My hubby made our wedding cake himself. (He use to be a chef.). It was a 4 tier chocolate & coffee cake, which was absolutely to die for, and decorated with flakes to look like a castle. All our guests went back for 3 or 4 servings. It was a huge hit at our wedding

I designed all our wedding stationery, I did our wedding invite electronically. All menus, etc, I designed. I also painted and designed our vinyl art wooden signs that we used as decor around the venue,
My sister taught us our dance routine, as well as my daddy daughter dance. We did a rumba to Mathew Mole, Jess' song.
We didnt have a DJ, but had a playlist and relied on our MC to play the correct songs at the correct times. It was a magical evening and all went off fine with minimal glitches.
All sound and lighting were provider by the venue at a hiring fee.
