A few years ago both my parents were diagnosed with cancer and at that moment in time I was so scared that I would loose one or both of them. But the Heavenly Father had a different plan and they both are alive and healthy today. Having them there to share the beautiful day with me and having my father (who also underwent a massive back operation a year ago) walk me down the aisle was truly special. Also seeing the excitement on my soon to be husband’s face when he first saw me walk down that aisle was priceless. We both just couldn’t stop smiling.
We went to the Kuredu Island Resort in the Maldives. It was wonderful. Pictures and photos actually can’t describe how truly beautiful it is. The staff were so friendly and we really had an amazing time.
My hair and make-up was done by the very talented Ida Webster. My dress was designed by Elizabeth Stockenstrom and this was truly my dream dress. Elizabeth really read my personality and came up with something so beautiful that exceeded my wildest expectations. For jewellery and accessories I only chose long drop Pearl earings and a silwer and pearl flower hair clip. I didn’t want anything to overpower the detail of my dress. I wore Olga Bolga Jelly Wedge shoes wich were so pretty and really comfortable.

We got married at the very beautiful Allesverloren Wine Estate at Riebeek West. It was such a beautiful day wich made our ceremony in the Allesverloren forest even that more special. Our guests came from near and far and stayed all over. Some stayed in Riebeek West and some in Riebeek Kasteel wich are both very close to the venue.

As I have an extremely hectic work schedule I didn’t really have time to go for many beauty treatments. I tried to eat healthy and go to gym whenever I had the chance but long working hours did make it hard. I made sure to properly clean and moisturize my skin every night before I went to bed and never started a day without sunscreen. I used a home teeth whitening kit the week before my wedding as I didn’t have time to go for a professional teeth whitening session.
I wanted a rustic but elegant look. For flowers I chose proteas, fynbos and dessert rosses. My flowers and decor was done by To-Nett’s Flower and Decor from Paarl. The venue also provided beautiful feary lights. Everything was perfect on the day and exactly like I imagined it.

My husband wore a navy blue suit with a dusty pink tie and brown leather shoes. The groomsmen wore navy blue pants, white shirts, navy blue ties and brown leather shoes.
I basically gave them freedom to choose their own design and I just chose the colour. I had the dresses made by Petra Perold Joosten from Roxiepearl in Paarl. We gave her a photo to work from and she made them the most beautiful dresses. The dresses were short (knee length) with a lacy top in a dusty pink colour.

Our photographers were the amazingly talented (Pure Image Photography). They really captured our day perfectly and we just couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos. Clinton Stoltz is such a creative artist. He also did our engagement shoot and with his spontaneous personality he made us feel comfortable from the start.
Our videographers were Boland Weddings. They made us feel so comfortable and we hardly new they were there.
No. If I could afford it though I most certainly would have. It’s not easy organizing a wedding by yourself and also having a hectic and stressful at times work schedule..
We decided not to get a fancy car and to rather spend the money on more important stuff.
Our food was prepared by Bertus Bester and his team from Allesverloren. The food was fantastic and the guests could not stop talking about how much they ate and how delicious it was.
Our wedding cake and cupcakes was made by Inge from Die Koekblik. Not only did it look devine but it also tasted amazing.
Some of our wedding stationery was designed and printed by the very talented Liesl Lambrechts from Artica Designs in Paarl. This included our table lists and wedding programs. The table numbers and menus on the tables was lasercut out of wood by my very talented brother in law, Sybrand Cillié (Hardekwas Houtwerke).

We didn’t need dance lessons as we both can dance. I love music and dancing and made sure to book the best dj in the bussiness (DJ Dirkie). Our guests really enjoyed it and the dance floor was always full.
