So we set out to pledge for purity until our special day... and it was definitely worth the wait!
Yes, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery in Knysna. We had a wood cabin, all alone on a mountain top to get to know one another.
I had the perfect plan to wear an all white wedding dress with matching shoes... but that's not at all what happened. The dress basically chose me. We went to Amberrain - a small wedding dress boutique in Benoni, Johannesburg. The lady who assisted us was great! After we found the dress, we set off to find my stunning Nude wedding shoes. Jewellery was the next step with some Ivory, just like in my dress. This too is something I would never imagined myself wearing... Ivory & Rose gold? But once again, everything just peacefully fell into place the more inspired we became.

We got married at Rondekuil Estate in Durbanville, Cape town. It was the first week that Cape town had experienced rain, but the moment our wedding started, the clouds opened up and the sun was shining through the clouds.
We loved the fact that our guests literally had a long weekend in Cape town as some of them flew down from JHB.
I am a complete Dermalogica junky! So a facial a week before was in order, followed by a lovely pedicure and massage... I remember thinking "I could get used to this." The more we did, the more exciting and overwhelming it got. When anxiety hits, call your Nail technician. Our ladies at Nail rage always knows best and were adding to the exciting Adventure by making my very last Nail appointment before we fly down to Cape town, very special indeed.
Our decor was white, royal blue with a touch of rustic browns. I set out to do the decor myself. Believe it or not, sometimes doing it yourself will be less stressful as you know what you want and you know how to do it at a low cost. I planned the decor down to the "T" and trust me when I say, less is more.
My handsome husband was wearing a suit created by House of Ole. We know Ole and his family personally from church and what a blessing his gift has been to us!
We LOVED the Infinity dresses. It was elegant and comfortable at the same time. It also suits numerous shades and sizes which is GREAT for a bride and her bridesmaids. My Made of Honor and I did one fitting to see the quality and thereafter sent the measurements of each Bridesmaid. 3 weeks later, we received the dresses. They were lovely. Another step closer to the special day!

Our Pastor from CRC (Christian Revival Church) Johannesburg was our marriage officer. We loved having someone lead our special day when their hearts are in it and they know and love us like their own children. What a blessing to have received Pre-marital counselling through our church, accountability couples who you can refer to for guidance and for amazing Pastors who lead us every step of the way and are still part of our everyday journey.
Bianca Smit was our Photographer on the day. She was great and took stunning photos. She did whatever she could to find out what we wanted, how we wanted it and gave advice where necessary. She was very prepared and could handle some unforeseen circumstances.
Yes! It's called Super Moms! Our mothers were just fantastic... even though stress caught up with us every now and again, the moms knew how to get things done.
I am very privileged to have my very own personal Graphic designer, now based in Japan! She was amazing. Knowing me really well, we basically conversed over Whatsapp about what we wanted and she created my dream come true Invitations. The name card, seating arrangements and agendas on the tables were all done by me at a very low price.
We did NOT need dance lessons. We have been comfortable with one another since the day we had our first "Braai". We randomly started dancing in my flat and it's been great ever since. I think somewhere on the dance floor we actually forgot that people were watching. We were so focused on one another, we were joking around, probably looking so inlove. We even tore my dress, that's how much fun we had with our very first dance.
