One of the precious memories is when my grandfather Seun Schutte walked me halfway down the Isle and handed me over to my mother Susan Erasmus who took me further and gave me away to Ruben. The very moment I walked down the Isle and the first person I saw was my husband.
When we arrived at the venue we walked through two beautiful wooden doors down the steps with our guests standing on the left hand side and the right hand side and as we walked down the stairs they cheered for us.
The message that was brought that day was about love and storms in your life. The moral was that storms should bring you closer together and not drive you apart. When you love God you will automatically love your spouse.
Yes, we were so privileged to go on honeymoon. We went to Hazy View and surroundings for the first couple of days. There we had a walk with the elephants at the Elephant sanctuary, went to God's Window, went down the gorge with the gorge lift and we also enjoyed a horse riding trail. Finally we spent the weekend in the Kruger National Park. Here we were so blessed to see 30 different types of animals. We so badly wanted to see Hyenas and on our way out of the Kruger Park we saw Hyenas with their cubs it most certainly was a wonderful surprise and blessing.
I am a girl who likes things that have a vintage kind of feel to it. My hair was done by Engela Eloff from Step Up Hair & Beauty Studio in Randfontein. I chose Engela because she has been my hairdresser for ages and she knows exactly what to do when I explain to her what I want. When I went for a trial I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it. My makeup, I went for a natural look. My makeup was done by Monique from Mirrors in Randfontein. When I first saw my wedding dress it was on Something Beautiful's facebook page and when I saw it I knew this is my dress. The dress was a sleeveless dress with lace flowing softly. My shoes were pink flats so that I would be able to wear them afterwards. For jewellery I wore White pearly earrings which I received as a gift from one of my cousins at my bridal shower and a silver watch which Ruben gave me for my birthday and a silver ring on my ring finger which were a promise I made to myself, my Savior Jesus Christ and my husband, to stay pure until the day I got married. I had no accessories.
We got married in Heidelberg's NG Klip Kerk. Our wedding reception was held at Suikerbos Venue in Heidelberg.
I had no bridal beauty regime. I had a body scrub I used which was also a birthday gift. and a lovely body lotion.
I am so grateful. My Ouma Els did the center piece flowers and my mother in-law did the rest. The tables were covered with white tablecloths and hessian as runners.
The flowers were white roses with a touch of pink. On the bridal table we had two orchids on either side of the table. We had lanterns in the middle of the flower centerpieces.
The groom and groomsmen got their suits and accessories from Your Pal in Brooklyn Mall Pretoria.

My bridesmaids wore dusty pink long flow like dresses. I had an idea and showed the image to Hettie van Wyk from Hettie Van Wyk Wedding Designer. She also made the dresses for the flower girls.
Our grandfather Willie Schoonwinkel married us and Pastor Hennie Venter signed the marriage register for us due to the fact that grandpa Willie is 89 years old.
Our photographer is the stunning Marzelle Steenkamp from Marzelle's Photography. She, her sister in-law and her farther Paul Du Preez captured our precious memories on camera. Our videographer was Karel Gericke from Devarim Productions.
We had a couple of people who assisted in planning our very special day. My mother Susan Erasmus, mother in-law Daleen Schoonwinkel, Martin Kearns and Nadine Du Plessis.
I had a 1950's Packard as my means of transport. For the bridesmaids and flower girls we had an 1950's Austin and a 1950's valiant. The person who owns these cars is uncle Francois in Vereeniging.
The food was prepared by the lovely ladies from Members In Christ Church Heidelberg. Lizette Fourie baked our wedding cake. It was a carrot cake with white icing and fresh roses on the top.
Martin Kearns, Ruben's cousin designed the stationary.
We did not have a dance wedding. We did have a live orchestra. They played classical pieces. I remember when we walked into the reception hall they played How does a moment last forever by Celine Deon. Unfortunately I do not have the name of the orchestra due to the fact that my mother in-law arranged for them to play at our wedding reception.
