In November of 2016 we went on holiday to Cape Town together, where we had the most wonderful time seeing all the tourist spots and beautiful gems of Cape Town. On the friday before we were meant to leave, we went to Franschoek for the day. It was one of the most beautiful towns i've ever seen and unbeknownst to me, a surprise picnic at Le Manz wine farm for lunch. We were meant to go on the wine tram to Le Manz, but it was fully booked when we got there. On the windiest day, we had our picnic in the vineyard where Guy proposed. The rest is history, we have been planning our wedding for April 2018 in the very beautiful KZN, Midlands.
The highlights and memorable moments of our wedding day was definitely how it seemed to absolutely fly by! We loved that our friends and family could all be there. From the decor and flowers, to the most delicious food and wedding cake, to the lawn games. And the coffee and hot chocolate bar that two of our dear friends could host for us!! I cant choose an exact moment that we loved more than any other - our entire wedding day was absolutely lovely!
We got to experience the lovely Kruger National Park. Our highlights were definitely seeing two Cheetah and a pride of Lions. It was a very memorable honeymoon.
My wedding look was classic chic - i wore a simple but beautiful classic flowing wedding gown which my aunt from Cape Town gave to me, as she owns a wedding dress business. I wore Blu Betty shoes - i am mad about leather and the Blu Betty brand is nothing but comfort and great style! I wore a simple rose gold necklace and earrings. I had my hair curled and left down with a simple braid.

Our wedding was at a venue called The Cairn of Old Kilgobbin, in the beautiful Dargle Valley in the Midlands Meander in Kwazulu-Natal. We had our wedding ceremony on the neighboring farm at a chapel called The Crab Apple Chapel.
Definitely give it visit - it is covered in ivy and has the most beautiful window at the front of the chapel that looks just beautiful in photos!
Our bridal party stayed at The Cairn of Old Kilgobbin, and guests stayed near by and got their own accommodation in the surrounding area.
I had my hair highlighted for the wedding, and went for facials and had my nails done before the wedding.
Flowers: Botanica Flowers
Decor: The Cairn of Old kilgobbin
Our decor had a rustic chic theme about it. We had lace table cloths, with rustic wooden boxes that had flowers in, as well as old trophies and silver wear that had flowers in them. The stationary was all in brown craft board - the menu's, order of the day etc.
All the stationary i printed myself and made up the designs for. I always envisioned doing everything for my wedding, and i got to do just that!
My family got to help set up the venue before the wedding, and helped with all the flower arrangements.
The groom wore a navy suit, with a white shirt, brown leather suspenders, brown leather shoes and the groom bought funky socks for each of the groomsmen so they all had these funky patterned socks, as well as different bow ties.
The groomsmen wore the same, except they didnt have jackets.
They were all in charge of getting their own navy pants, shirts and shoes.
My bridesmaids wore dusty pink tulle maxi skirts, with a white strappy top underneath a lace top.
Lace tops: Chanelle Wright
Bridesmaids skirts: Bride's mom made the skirts
Our pastor from our church from Christ Church Pietermaritzburg - Wayne Barkhuizen.
The wonderful African Bear Photography captured all our moments - and wow did the photo's come out absolutely beautifully!!
It is so nice going through the photos now, that the wedding is over - we just get taken back to that day!
Troy and Tarryn were wonderful, and make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera - we loved their crazy ideas, which got us the most amazing photos!
Carlene Bronner from the Cairn of Old Kilgobbin organised the events of the day - and she was just wonderful!
Everything went so smoothly.
We had a lady from Nottingham Road who made our wedding cake - Marezelda from Cake Matters.
Our food was catered for by Anne from Anne's Kitchen in Richmond.

Wedding Cake: Cake Matters
We had a very nontraditional wedding - it was very relaxed and was a day time wedding. We didn't have a DJ, but we played our favorite tracks on the sound system. It was wonderfully relaxed! We did not have dancing, and i wouldn't have had it any other way!
