Every single moment of my wedding day was a highlight. I had the privilege of waking up on my wedding morning with my best friends and sister-in-law to be and spending my wedding morning with them. They kept me relaxed and shared in my joy from the early morning hours. A memorable moment I will never forget is my father giving me away at the alter, he was very emotional and so was I, but when I took my husbands hand everything was calm and it was just me and him. A highlight for me was definitely my breathtaking decor , the stunning venue and fantastic food. There were so many memorable moments, the first dance, the dancing, the speeches, the games played, our wonderful guests, just having everyone who loves us so much share our special day with us and blessing us on our new journey. I can't really choose specific moment as the whole day was a special memorable moment for me and getting to share my life with the one I love is the absolute highlight of my life.
MAURITIUS! We went to the beautiful island of Mauritius to the Le Mauricia Resort, what a beautiful island with the most friendly people and stunning beaches. We enjoyed every moment of our trip to Mauritius, starting in Cape Town where we spent our first 2 night is the Fire & Ice Hotel and explored the city with the Red Bus Tours. We then left Cape Town for Mauritius, it was every cent spent worth. I will go back as soon as I can. We were blessed with wonderful weather, great excursion, meeting wonderful people and learning about their culture and beautiful island.
I went for the classic look on my wedding. I rented my dress from House of Silk in Cape Town and it was perfect for me, my Mother, Hannie, picked out my dress and it was absolutely perfect when i put it on the first time and I knew this was the one. I trusted my Make-Up & Hair artist, Marsell Kirstein, and she really did a great job of making me look and feel beautiful and keeping me calm. I bought my shoes from Anella Wedding Shoes and kept them from the morning until the night we got back to the place we stayed, they were light and comfortable on my feet. My earrings I bought at Lovisa (my husband picked them out) , my pearl bracelet was something borrowed from my friend, Kristin Greeff, who got married a month before our wedding & which she wore on her wedding day, and my hair piece was also borrowed from my friend, Maggie Visser, which she wore on her wedding day.

We got married in my hometown, Riebeek Kasteel, at the Dutch Reformed Church where i was baptised ,as well as my brother and my parent also got married there. We had our ceremony at Allesverloren Function & Wedding Venue, Riebeek West, it is a beautiful wine farm with beautiful views and a breathtaking venue.
Oak trees, vineyards, mountain views, excellent cuisine, award winning wines and a purpose built reception venue all add up to the perfect place to host your wedding reception.
I went to Marsell Bester body & Bride, Riebeek Kasteel, to get my facials done monthly since my engagement as well as RegimA Peel treatments to treat scarring. I used the Nu Skin AP24 Teeth whitening toothpaste for whiter teeth. I drank lost of water and tried to eat healthier.
Jo-Lize van der Merwe from Floral Affairs did all the decor and it was spectacular. We went for the clean, white & greenery look and she did an amazing job. We rented all her furniture for our outside lounge areas. She built a greenery wall behind our bridal table that was absolutely breathtaking and hung greenery from the venue's chandeliers. We had white orchids on each table, because they are my favourite flower, with candles , roses, hydrangeas and greenery. The end look of the venue and decor was absolutely stunning.
The groom , Jaco van Zyl, wore a Carducci dark navy suit and Old Khaki white shirt with a navy tie, and the groomsmen wore navy pants and a white shirt with a tie.They all looked very handsome, but my husband looked very very beautiful.
My bridesmaids wore Judith Atelier original dresses the were designed especially for them and made for them, one of a kind. They each had a choice of what type of design they wanted , the only rule I had was that the dresses should all be long and the skirts should be plain. They really looked fabulous in their unique grey and lace dresses.
Our marriages officer was our Dutch Reformed Church priest, Ds. Andre du plessis.
We only had a photographer, Kreatiewe Dromer - Corli Sadie, she captured our day perfectly and she really kept us calm and happy. She is a wonderful photographer with great skills and is really a people person.
We had no wedding planner, I planned the wedding together with my mother and husband.
Our wedding transport was my uncle's, Christof Spies, Pontiac from Pontiac Verhuring. It is a beautiful vehicle and very classy , we loved driving in it and it made great photos.
The venue's manager and chef prepared the food, Bertus Bester, and he really gave us a amazing 4 course menu and prepared the food very tasty and set it out beautifully. All the guests gave us compliments on the great food. Our friend Marizelle Oosthuisen made our beautiful tasty white wedding cake.
The name and thank you cards as well as the table list were printed by Growing Paper. They are a company who use recycled paper and put flower seeds into the paper so all the guests could plant their thank you cards after the wedding.
The reception was beautiful filled with beautiful flowers, decor, great food, great music, laughter, tears and off course a lot of dancing. We had a blast of a time the whole night and partied deep into the night with our family and friends. We took dance lessons in Paarl at Phox Dance Academy, we had a Wedding dance package. We took a dance lesson every week for 12 weeks before the wedding to prepare for our first dance. We chose a beautiful song with a lot of meaning to us as a couple and we had our first dance to it, the dance lessons helped a lot and we were very comfortable. We hired a local DJ from our town, DJ Andre Koopman, he was great, he read the crowd and the dance floor was filled the whole night until the end. When we were preparing to leave the venue our DJ surprised us by singing us a special song to send us on our way. The reception was very special and we will always remember it and treasure it.
