Moments before our wedding and that i had to leave to the church.... My friends dogs chewed my wedding shoes. I was so exited to marry my husband i didnt care that my shoes were ruined. I atleast had some pictures of my shoes before they were eaten. I had pumps as a back up though.
Another special memory is that our pastor said we were the most serious bride and groom he has ever seen. This is because its what we both have always wanted and took it so serious. As it meant the world to us to get married. Our food was amazing and all home made boere kos. Everyone had a blast.
We went away to Manaba beach for the week. A client of mine gave us her holiday home as a wedding gift for the week.
My wedding look was sort of vintage and simple. My dress was a trumpet style with full lace. Hair was half braided and all to one side with curls. My hair is naturally long so i didnt need any extentions. Lengire was made by a friend mari lou boutique (rehet blom) my undies said bride on it and had another pair for honeymoon thst said Mrs Du Plooy. My shoes were maroon heels. Jewelery was a gift from my mom. Serling silver neclace and earings. Very fine and simple.
We got married at Corkwood farm.
Guests all made their way back home after the wedding. Family from durban stayed over though at a bed and breakfast close by.
I ate healthy and worked out 3 times a week. I tried home dental treatments. Used self taner from the pharmacy. I am a nail tech so I did my own nails and pedicure and also waxed and shaped my own brows.
We did all our decor and flowers ourselves. It had so much more meaning and felt more special as all our time and effort went into our decor and making things the 9 months leading up to our wedding. This was all thanks to the help of our friends that have a passion for parties and decor
My husband didnt have groomsman as we wanted to keep the wedding small. Hubby went shopping with friends at the market to find a suit
I had 2 flower girls and a lil pageboy. A frind of mine Mari lou boutique made their outfits.
My bothers father in law Gerhard Van Staden who is a Marriage officer
2 friends that are passionately photographers did our photos.
My planer was 2 amazing friends. Lorriane Bekker and Marilize Lubbe
A friend of a friend drives old cars and he kindly did a favour and drove me to the venue in his old car. Chevrolet
Family and friends all helped prep food for the day and made a dish and we hired a spit braai.
Everything was done by us and we did all DIY things
Our reception was absolutely beautifully at Corkwood farm. Small and intimate. Our Dj was also a friend that used to do DJ back in the day and offered us as a gift to be our dj
