The build up of getting ready with my bridesmaids, mother and mother in law was also very special.
Seeing all the friends and family enjoying the night made us so happy.
Yes, we did. We went to Kani, Maldives for 7 nights. This was our wedding present from my dad.
Elizabeth Stockenstrom made my wedding dress. I was absolutely in love with it, it was more than I have ever imagined.
I went for dark eyeshadow as I normally don’t wear a lot of other make up.
About 2 years ago I cut my hair very short, I always imagined having long hair for my wedding day so I got extensions. It made it so easy as I could literally choose any type of style with the long hair. I went for a high ponytail because I wanted to have the focus on the back of my wedding dress.
For accessories I only went for earrings and a bracelet, which I got from Lilly Blue.

We got married at Die Woud in Caledon, Western Cape. Most of our guests did stay the night as most of them traveled from Eastern Cape.
Some stayed in Caledon and some in Hermanus.

I didn’t actually have a major change in
anything.
I would say the biggest change was switching from skin products about 3 weeks before the wedding. I’ve been using the same skin product since high school and decided that it’s time to invest a bit more. I switched from Nivea to Skoon. I’ve always had a very sensitive skin and Skoon doesn’t have any perfume in their products so it was the perfect fit.
I am a Personal trainer so I’ve always been active in some way. I didn’t actually change anything regarding this department not even eating habits.
We didn’t have a lot of flowers as the natural elements of the venue already made it so beautiful. We had about 2-3 candles on each table with greenery scattered in between. We did however had a flower installation hanging from the roof.
We didn’t have one specific color for the wedding. The flowers etc. were mostly natural/neutral/earthy colors.
We had beautiful pockets of furniture outside where the canapés were being served with small fires keeping our guests cozy while waiting for us.
They all wore the same color chino from Country Road, Woolworths with a white long sleeve button up shirt. They had a brown bow toe with brown suspenders, which we got from Jcclick.
I had two bridesmaids and one maid of honor. All three wore wrap dresses. My two bridesmaids had a dusty blue dress and my maid of honor had a sage green dress. I got the dresses from Brides of somerset in Somerset West.

We actually signed the marriage papers on the Thursday night, so we didn’t have a legal officer the day of the wedding.
My husbands uncle delivered a message for us on the Saturday in front of all our friends and family.
We did not make use of a photo booth but we did have 6 disposable cameras that the guests used to capture moments the photographer might miss.
Our main photographer was Anina Harmse but we also had a second photographer, Danelle Stofberg. They are so sincere and down to earth and make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera.
We also had a videographer, Barefeet Videography (Jesse). Although we only met our videographer that day, everything felt so natural.

I did not, but Die Woud offers a Coordination package. Which basically means that someone gets in touch with all your suppliers about two weeks before the wedding to arrange times etc. which helps a lot.
We did not have specific wedding transport.
Die Woud doesn’t allow outside caterers for the food so they do all the food themselves (and it was absolutely delicious).
Our wedding cake was made by Krummels Sugar Art, they are based in Caledon. We had a naked wedding cake, some tears vanilla and some chocolate. Very basic but so so tasty and pretty.
The table numbers and seating board I had made in Jeffrey’s Bay.
Bridene from Bree Creatives made our wedding invite, we had a online invite, (I just found this to be easier) and also our menus.
We did not take dance lessons, we didn’t even practice our first dance, we just winged it =)
We had a DJ. DJ Hermie de Jongh. What an awesome guy. We ended up becoming house friends. Everyone had such a good time, he reads the crowd so good.
Other than that we had such a jol, we tried to finish the formalities as fast as we can so we have lots of time to spend with our friends and families.
