When I walked down the aisle, my handsome husband-to-be was in tears. When he did his speech, it was my turn to cry.

I chose a very classic look for our wedding.
My wedding dress was an off-shoulder dress made of (mostly) net.
My hair was done in an upstyle which was very plain.
I wore ballet shoes which was custom-made with lace to make sure I’m comfortable for the whole night.
My jewellery was also very classic - I wore pearl and diamond earrings which was my “something borrowed” from my mom.
We got married at Oakfield farm in Honeydew. It is a lovely venue with picturesque gardens and a lovely romantic feel.

I didn’t really have any specific bridal beauty regime leading up to the wedding. I carried on training normally and ate healthy.

We had write and green flowers (in abundace) as well as white candles on the tables.
My husband wore a dark grey suit with a white shirt and a black belt and shoes.
We bought his suit at Black Tie.
The groomsmen wore black suits and white shirts.
They all looked really handsome.
My bridesmaids wore grey boobtube dresses that was made for them by Rina from Catherine’s collection.
They had their hair loose with a simple plait at their hairlines.
AJ Sutton from Doxa Deo Randburg was our wedding official.
What an honour it was for us that a friend got to marry us.
Our photographer for the day was Marethe Grobler of Marethe Grobler Photography and the videographers were Max and Lara from Twenty Twenty Productions.
We didn’t have a photobooth,but both parties took enough photo’s to cover every special moment on our wedding day.
I didn’t have an official wedding planner,but my mother was very involved with all the arrangements.
The venue’s wedding co-ordinator was also very good and helped whenever we needed it.
Seeing that I got dressed at the venue, I only had to travel a few hundred metres. My dad picked me up in our car and drove me to the church.
The wedding venue arranged all the food for this special occasion.
We really had a feast.
My mom baked our wedding cake and made our favourite - banana-carrot cake.
I was very fortunate that one of my friends, Nadine de Waal from Dinakepina designed all my stationary.
Madga van Rooyen from Inkfish did all the printing.
We had such a lovely wedding day.
In the ceremony and during the canapés we had a live band with a keyboard, violin, chello and flute.
After the guests moved into the reception hall, the DJ (Izak Mentz) took over.
We didn’t attend any dance lessons,but we luckily opened the dance floor with a slow song from The Parlotones - I’ll be there.
