The shed where our ceremony took place overlook the Gariep Dam. During the ceremony a huge purple cloud came over the dam, creating the most amazing double rainbow as a backdrop for the wedding. Seeing that the Karoo had a big drought for a couple of years, the rain and rainbows was almost like a promise that our wedding day will be the start of something amazing. Such a special moment!
Our honeymoon destination was Vietnam. Good food, amazing scenery, friendly people and so many places to explore.
A lot of inspiration was taken from the setting of the venue for the wedding look. Because the wedding was on a farm, the dress had to be not only comfortable, but also suitable for walking on dirt, bushes and stones.
For this reason the dress had a twofold look, during the ceremony and photos the dress were full length with a low back. But after our first dance the skirt was removed to reveal a beaded mini that was comfortable for dancing the rest of the night. Dress made by Lena-Lisa Designer, Cape Town.
The wedding and ceremony took place on a farm at Driekwartblou Guesthouse and Venue, a new venue located 200km from Bloemfontein near the Gariep Dam.
Innovative ideas influenced the decor decisions. The nearest flower shop was in Bloemfontein. Greenery was sourced on the farm for the arch at the ceremony and the hanging features at the reception. Individual bunches of flowers were arranged on the tables with yellow Billy Ball flowers for a pop of colour. Flowers and decor done by Lezanne Viviers and a bunch of family members and friends.
The groom and groomsmen entire outfit was bought at Woolworths. The cufflinks were handed down to the groom by his grandfather.
The bridesmaids wore mustard yellow high neck dresses, handmade by my mother.
