Our day was filled with fantastic moments. It had been raining every day for two weeks leading up to our wedding, and even the Friday before the wedding, it was still pouring. On Saturday morning when I woke up, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping - no clouds in sight! The entire day was blessed from beginning to end.
For our honeymoon, we went to the South Coast. First Uvongo River Lodge and then Margate.
If I had to describe my look, I would say floral. My dress was custom made. The skirt has a purple tint and layers of classy ruffles. My hair was curled to the side and I wore a flower crown and a full veil. Jewellery was kept to a minimum - only earrings and a bangle.
We got married at Bayete Estate and Day Spa in Centurion. Some of our guests spent the night at nearby hotels and B&Bs.
I did not follow any out-of-the ordinary routines before my wedding. Toothpaste became my best friend to keep my breakouts at bay. I also used a mud mask and sugar scrub to keep my skin feeling soft and smooth.
When we fist started talking about our wedding, we weren't interested in having tons of flowers. This changed very quickly when flower suddenly became a theme in our wedding. Our florist was Flowers at Mall@Reds. They really did a fantastic job. We bought the rest of our decor elements at different shops. Everything went together perfectly.
The groom wore a grey suit (Parktown Stores) with a purple waistcoat and tie (Made by the bride's mom), Togther with a white shirt and black belt and shoes. The groomsmen wore grey pants (Parktown Stores) with grey waistcoats and purple ties (mom, again!), paired with white shirts (rolled up sleeves) and black belts and shoes.
The bridesmaids wore stunning dusty pink/purple dresses with lace accents and tulle skirts. The dresses were bought at Amina's in Mayville Mall and we simply switched out the belts for something more in our colour range. It looked stunninf and did not cost us a fortune.
We were Married by Pastor Andries Nel. We've known him for quite some time and it was so special having him there.
Our STUNNING photos were taken by Charnene Photography. Her and her husband make a dream team and our pictures came out absolutely stunning!
The catering was done by the venue. We had very proudly South African braavleis and paptert as a main course! It was DELICIOUS! The cake was a gift from the bride's aunt - Cakes by Colleen. Chocolate Mousse Naked cake with handmade peonies and succulents as accents.
The bride designed and printed all stationary by herself with some help from her mom.
Our DJ services were provided by AMA Promotions. They were fantastic and we couldn't get enough!
