Our memorable moments: Seeing my sister (maid of honour) run up and down because our cake got smashed while in transit, so she had to fix it without me knowing about it, her whole body covered in cake.. the first moment we saw each other when I was walking (running) down the aisle, my mother giving me away as my father recently passed away, his facial expression blew me away, our first dance, literally the first time ever we danced together and I couldn't remember our routine...awkward!!! Our family and friends coming together in one small hall, seeing all their faces and the tears of joy for me and hubby. The moment my friend had to run out of church to phone the caterers as they were late, lol, and the pastor forgetting my first name. We had a blast even with all these memorable moments behind us.
No honeymoon, unfortunately too expensive.
My wedding look i wanted to keep casual and natural as i make-up every day but not as beautiful as Profile Beauty did, my hair was also done by Profile Beauty, my wedding dress was hand made and bought from Sparkle Designs in Potgietersrus, the shoes was silver with lace, my lingerie my sister made for me, the jewelry was my something borrowed from my granny which made it very special.
We got married at Limerick Lodge, Free State, right alongside the Vaal river. Our guests all stayed over in the chalets next to the river, so it was a small get away for them as well.
I did not do anything, no gym, teeth whitening nothing, i just went as myself.
My decor theme was Hessian (burlap) cream, with doillies for underplates that i sprayed rose gold, we went to our local rose farm and bought about R 600 worth of roses all different colors and each table had 4 roses and in the middle we placed one protea. We rented the table cloths from our caterers Crista Galli (Berglau Caterers) in potchefstroom.
My husband wore a pin striped suit and black shoes, that he bought in our town at a local shop.
My maid of honour wore a cream long dress and rose gold high heels.
Ou Marriage officer was our local Pastor Anton Gresse
Our photographer / videographer was Wendy Hood from Photomemories, we had a small photobooth with some props for the guests and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
No planner, i planned and did everything myself
We didnt need any transport as we stayed over at the venue, the chapel and hall was right there.
Our food was prepared by Crista Galli in Potchefstroom, the food was excellent. The Cake was made by a friend's friend.
Myself and my husband did all our stationary except for the invites which i bought at a small china shop in town.
Our reception was one big party, we didn't take professional dance lessons as our close friend taught my husband to dance, it was so funny seeing two grown men "Trying" to dance and both of them trying to lead the other one, our sound and lightning was done by AMA Promotions the best DJ ever.
