We jetted off to a small resort in the Mentawai Islands (off Indonesia) called Aloita Resort and Spa. Crystal clear warm waters and towering coconut trees all around us. Unfortunately our honeymoon ended off with a delayed flight in Padang where we had to spend a night at a hotel near the airport.
Hair and Make up was done by Laura and Co. She is highly recommended and went above and beyond to help with anything on the day. The look I wanted was a natural look with a bright, bold lip colour. As I do not like up styles, myself and the bridesmaids hair was just simple with GHD curls.
Wedding Dress was made by the lovely Madelain Clarke.
We got married in Infracombe (Umkomaas) at The Venue Fontana, which was nice and close to home. It was the only venue I looked at and fell in love straight away. (It also conveniently has a craft brewery on the premises)
We had a small intimate wedding, under 70 guests.
Some of the guests stayed in nearby Umkomaas, and the bridal party stayed at the venue. We chose a venue close to home so our guests weren't forced to book accommodation if they did not want to.

We chose Surreal Events (Alexis Yapp) who worked within our budget. She created our table decor, ceremony arch and flower crowns which was even more beautiful than what we imagined. We wanted a simple, modern boho look with some deep shades of red, mixed with white and green foliage, including lots of candles which was complimented by rose gold accents.
The venue provided beautiful large solid wood tables with rose gold metal chairs, which was exactly the look we were wanting.
Groom and groomsmen wore navy blue chino trousers. Groomsmen wore grey long sleeve button up shirts, complimented with burgundy bow ties. The groom, the same, apart from a navy blue bow tie, paired with a navy blue blazer jacket. Brown shoes and brown belts to finish off the look.
Two of my three bridesmaids live overseas, so logistically it was easier for them to find and fit their own dresses which also allowed them to get dresses they felt comfortable wearing. We merely provided some ideas and our colour selection. We wanted them to look and feel sexy, and to not look like your typical bridesmaid.
We had the bridesmaids wearing white and lace outfits with a nude heel, adding a pop of colour with some beautiful flower crowns.

Carmen Roberts captured our wonderful day, we had known Carmen and her husband and loved their images. We felt comfortable and relaxed with them and it was a natural fit that worked wonderfully.
We did not make use of a photo booth but instead purchased an instant camera with a heap of film and left it out for people to take photos and leave a note in a photo album,
Based south of Durban, but happy to travel for weddings, shoots or anything lovely!
Mara Fontana (Owner of The Venue Fontana) helped us on the day.
We used Sean Greens Taxi service for the responsible party animals.
Andrew Draper came up with a fantastic menu, working to our budget guidelines and helping us prepare a delicious mix of food for a warm summer afternoon in Durban.
Our tasty cake was made by Smiths Bakery and we provided the custom wedding topper which had been purchased overseas.
We designed our stationery, and printed and prepared them ourselves with the help of family.
We took some last minute dance lessons, maybe a little too last minute.
Sound and Lighting was provided by David Yapp and he was also our DJ for the night, even making sure the Bride and Groom always had a drink, going above and beyond to make everything run smoothly.
We also had an acoustic performance during the canapes, Matt Gardiner, a fantastic young artist.
