I have three moments on my wedding day that I can definitely call the highlights for me, firstly was praying with my husband before we got married, we blindfolded him with a ribbon so that h wouldn't see me until I walked down the aisle and we had a rare opportunity to pray together about the step we were about to make and to thank God for the opportunity to have such a special day. The second highlight was definitely the ceremony, listening to my husband's vows, him washing my feet and taking communion together was very special. The last highlight was my sister's speech, she doesn't usually like speaking in front of many people but that speech left everyone in tears and speechless, she truly poured her heart into saying something everyone would remember.
We spent our honeymoon in Bali! It was extremely humid but we made the most of it. From underwater walking to seeing an active volcano we really did it all. We also made sure to go to a wonderful hotel so that we could spend some of those hot days at the pool relaxing and reading a book. The culture experience was great and we enjoyed every minute of it.
What I wanted for my wedding look if I could describe it in one word was 'timeless'. I went for a simple but elegant A-line dress with small lace details and a criss-cross bodice from Bridal Room in Pretoria.
I wanted to add elements of our Gemstone theme by getting a druzy bracelet made by Beaudell and my mother-in-law had a matching ring made for me as a gift. My earrings I bought in a christmas market in Paris while I lived therein January 2017 that have the same druzy look as the rest of my jewelry.
My hair was done by a friend, I wanted it to be out of my face but not all the way up so I chose a soft half up half down look to compliment the hair piece and veil I got from And Something Pretty.
My BEAUTIFUL make up was done by Donique at Flawless Make Up. She was amazing and so professional, I would recommend her to anyone and I was so happy to have found such a gem. The photos speak for themselves.

We got married at Bell Amour Wedding Venue in Pretoria. Boy were we impressed with their service, they are truly involved and interested in the couple and your wedding and it made the world of difference for us. Some of our guests stayed at the venues beautiful new accommodations however it is close enough to where we lived not many needed to stay over.
Truth be told I wasn't too concerned about being thinner than what I was but I focused on making sure me skin was flawless. I went for facial peels monthly and skin PHD which worked magic on my face!
I made sure my lip was waxed and eyebrows plucked before my big day to make sure those close ups were perfect.
The venue was so beautiful I didn't feel like I needed to do much to change the space. Instead I used accents of Gemstones and greenery to bring across my theme. I bought about 30 gemstones, mainly crystals for our tables and placed many home made signs with bible verses on them around the venue.
Charl wore a light grey suit from Woolworths. His ring and cufflinks came from Unbreakable Man and his tie was from Gelique to make sure in matched the bridesmaids dresses.
The groomsmen also wore light grey chinos from woolworths with a bow tie made by my mother-in-law.
All the men had Happy socks.

My mother made our beautiful wedding cake, my husbands favorite which is carrot cake. She even made a layer gluten free to make sure all could have a piece.
We also had a sangria bar which was so much fun for all of our guests. They could decide how to mix it to their taste and opened the fun to those that drink wine and those that don't.
