One of my most unforgettable moments was walking half way down the path towards the chapel with my brother and then from the aisle inside the chapel to Marco with my mom and dad by my side. I will never forget Marco's face at that moment.
I couldn't wait to see Marco and become his wife for life! The emotions, excitement, love for each other and pure happiness could not be contained.
The build up before walking down the aisle I will also never forget, laughing with my bridesmaids, special moments with my mom and dad, lots of hugs from my mother and father in law and just excitement and nerves of counting down the hours.
Saying Yes, our first walk into the reception as Mr and Mrs Mc Alister , with our favorite song playing in the backround and walking in between our guests while they were clapping and cheering, our first cheers, our first meal , our first dance and making a promise in front of all of our family and friends to God that we will love, honor and respect each other for the rest of our life.
It was the best kept secret and surprise :) I was all packed for a honeymoon without knowing what the destination would be.
Marco told me the morning after we got married that we were going to Mauritius ! I jumped up and down of joy and excitement .
After only getting 2 hours of sleep in, we had the pleasure of having breakfast with our family and friends at the venue and then rushed to the airport. Before the plane even took off we were already fast asleep :)
Mauritius is absolutely gorgeous with its crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches.
We were lucky enough to stay at a hotel where we had 4 different types of restaurants to choose from, so every dinner was a different culture and food experience and we ended up going to our favorite ones twice or three times.
During the day, it was so good to just relax after all the wedding stress on the beach with a cocktail and snorkeling in the sea. We also ended up going on a Catamaran, exploring the National Botanical garden, Sugar and Rum factory and dancing the night away.
And knowing that I am not good with 'last day's' on holiday, Marco took me to the beach on our last night and we danced on our first song under the stars
It was such an unforgettable time

I had a strict exercise regime and got up early in the mornings to go to gym before work as well as on a Saturday and Sunday. I strongly believe in clean eating ( a lot of greens, fish and chicken) and drinking enough water every day and ended up loosing 15 kg's in a very healthy way before our wedding day.
I used a sugar scrub a few times a week to keep my skin glowing and went for a facial weeks before the wedding.
In the week of our wedding, I went for a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow shaping to my beautiful friend who owns her own business , Yolandi-Lee Oberholzer at Necessity Permanent make up by Landi-lee
My bridesmaids also spoiled me the night before by giving me a beauty emergency kit! This was much needed on the wedding day and definitely the Honeymoon
The Groomsmen ( Emson, Corrie, Etienne, Haas and George) all wore navy chino's with a long light blue with polka dots button up shirt, brown belts and shoes all from Woolworths.
Marco wore a navy suit from Euro-suit with a long white button up shirt, brown belt and shoes.
Marco gave each groomsman a cigar and personalized badge with their name on, on the wedding day
I also gave Marco a wooden box on the day which had a letter in that I wrote the night before going to bed, a watch, his tie which had a message embroided at the back saying - "Our for life begins today" and a pair of socks "in case he got cold feet".
This was a very interesting experience. My Maid of Honor stays in Cape Town so every time she came down to visit us in JHB , we had a jam packed weekend full of wedding planning.
I had 4 bridesmaids ( Mies, Mariette, Adel and Carla) and one maid of honor ( Marilie) Two bridesmaids wore a Teal colored long dress, two and dusty pink long dress and my maid of honor a light silver/grey long dress all from YDE. We happened to walk past YDE and fell in love with the idea of different colors and the comfortable yet elegant look
On the day of the wedding as a thank you gift, I gave them each a matching necklace and earnings.
Our marriage officer was Victor Cloete
We met our photographer, Alon, at one of our friends wedding's . We absolutely love his work and how he captures all the special moments and things that matter on your special day! We had the privileged of also doing our Engagement photo shoot with him and by the time it got to our wedding day , we felt so comfortable with him taking all our photos. He is extremely professional and really captures REAL moments, those that you will keep with you for the rest of your life

Melinda from Melinda's Bakery in Pretoria made our cake which was made with so much love. It was yummy and beautiful.
We designed, printed and cut out everything by hand :)
Reinardt from Mega Music DJ's was our DJ and wow did he get the party started. He had so many lights and a smoke machine which helped with creating the vibe. We gave him a list of songs that were important to us when we met him and it was so great to hear it on our wedding day. He is very professional and will highly recommend him.
