The people who truly love us made sure that they were there. Family and friends travelled from Dubai, London, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth and it meant so much to us. We are so blessed to have these peiple in our lives.
Our families played a special part in the days events from my Mother leading the flowergirl and ring bearer in, Mother in law designing the beautiful flower decor, our awesome MC, my little sister in law assisting with bridal party makje up and most importantly, our son finally got to see his Mom and Dad tie the knot and was so excited to carry in our rings.
We got married at Bloekomsrus, Hermon. Beautiful mountains in the distance, vineyard's, railway lines, picturesque trees along a gravel road and bales of hay set the scene of some truly beautiful pictures. The bridal party and family stayed on the farm as well as in Riebeeks Kasteel.

My wonderful Mother-in-law did our flowers along the tables as well as the bridesmaids bouquets. My Mother made my garters and the most exquisite brooch bouquet, so unique and being -loved it! The venue itself has beautiful exposed roof beams and gorgeous rustic wooden chairs which we paired with rustic wooden chairs which matched perfectly. Under plates and table numbers were made by Potties and Winebox giftsets were made by Crei Designs. A lot of our bridal party gifts and accessories (bridesmaids tops, hangers and groomsmen socks etc) were from Smoorverlief -service was amazing from them all! Leonette the venue coordinator (lovely lady), assisted with the lighting and crystal candle holders and my Mother made the stuffed hearts that hung outside and provided the gold wine bottles all the way from Port Elizabeth.

Well a bride changes her mind a few times but lesson learned, always go back to your first choice. My Maid of Honor lives in Port Elizabeth and was unable to attend fittings so she asked her Mother-in-law to alter the dress I found into a skirt, as did the bridesmaids here in CT. It was a success, they were beautiful flowy tulle skirts with lace tops. And my ladies looked beautiful
My husbands Uncle married us. Pastor Fanie Mybergh
We had the talented Bianca Smit as our photographer. What an amazing lady, so sweet and patient and she made us feel very comfortable.
My post pregnancy bridesmaid offered to assist with Menu and table settings while she was on maternity leave, what a life saver
DJ Pepe kept us entertained for the eventful day. I walked down the aisle with my brother to the sound of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters but a very calm and beautiful Cello version. Our first dance was unprepared and not rehearsed -basically we hadn't danced together in about a year and decided to "wing it" that night. My dress had a long trail which I didn't hold up as I was going for dramatic effect Lol but according to everyone else we did a good job so yay, we pulled it off
