The highlight of my day was seeing Mike's face as I walked down the aisle. I will never forget it - pure love!
We're planning our honeymoon next year. We're going to travel the coast of Cali!
I decided I wanted a "messy" side braid for my hair. My mom wore baby's breath and mini white roses in her hair on her wedding day so I decided to incorporate it too. My amazing hairstylist (Thelma Smit) nailed it! She placed snippets of baby's breath down my plait, and then I wore a hand made flower crown made of baby's breath and white roses. My bridesmaids wore the same. For my makeup I actually gave my makeup artist (Mia Taylor) "carte blanche" with this. She did an incredible job by doing a gold glam look with a natural lip colour.
I wore hanging Mother-of-Pearl heart earrings that belonged to my Great Grandmother. They were so simple and elegant, and matched my dress and hair beautifully.
My dress - I bought it from Bride & Co but knew from the beginning that I wanted alterations to the back. Shireen Abrahams did the alterations and she was incredible. It was ivory with a sequined bodice and ruffled bottom - I truly felt like a princess in it!
We got married at the stunning Monkey Valley Resort in Noordhoek. We had the most amazing view of the sea combined with a forest-like surrounding. The place is rustic, charming and beautiful, and the wooden reception "tree-house" was scattered with fairy lights.
We also had chilled drinks and snacks on the Friday night at the venue for guests who wanted to join. Most of our guests strayed the night, some stayed for two nights so it was a whole weekend affair which made it even more special!
I've always loved running and general fitness, but a few months before the wedding I started boxing fitness to help tone up a bit. I fell in love - so addictive and fun!
I used coconut oil as a natural teeth whitening option. I would leave a large teaspoon of it in my mouth for 2 minutes after brushing in the morning and then spit it out. This really works!
