Our marrige officiator - Pastor Alfred Monametsi, and our Program Director - Anele Mda, made our wedding! It was laughter all the way! I looked like a dream, my skin was glowing, my dress stunning, my shoes, my CROWN and to top it all my most prized accessory - My husband in his black and white polka dot tuxedo!
As a bride I'm certain I made a grand entrance - thanks to the creativity of the venue staff. I was particularly pleased with the on time program and I must commend my guests for putting aside "African Time'' for once and stuck to the time on the invites.
When it came to our reception entrance, our dance routine was the bomb - taught by our daughters :) . The surprise from the venue when they bring out the dessert ( on fire) - literaly - was a definite highlight. Our speakers shared so much wisdom on Emotional Intelligence, Balancing modern times vs culture expectations, the warm welcome from the in-laws, love from a biblical perspective and well wishes from our children and friends. The FOOD! The MUSIC! The VENUE! Aaaaaah!
My dress was made by Sne Mbatha of Sne Collections. BREATHTAKING! I did not want to change dresses because our wedding was in the evening but I wanted a different look for the reception, so Sne made a detachable train that I could remove just before the reception. The dress gave me a princess feel during the chapel ceremony and a sexy feel at the reception. I opted for a crown as I felt like a queen that day.
We had 2 make up artists for myself, 2 bridesmaids and matron of honor. This helped us manage our time well. Our make up artists were Nthati from Beauty by Nthati and Ruru from Omontle.
My hair was done by Kudakwashe from Kudatot hair salon. We went for a simple, pulled back bun to keep my Afro look and give all the shine to the crown.
I wore a corset underneath from WaisttrainerSA as my dress was body-hugging and I did not want to look bloated after eating. I was as flat as they come.... hehehe.
Yanga Dumasile of YD Optical helped me with eye contacts as I wear glasses but did not want to wear them on the day.
We went for pink for the bridesmaids and flower girls so that I can be the only one wearing white. My husband wore black with polka dots - classy I must say - while his groomsmen and best man wore black tuxedos.
One morning in March 2018 my husband (boyfriend at the time) asked me to accompany him to Pretoria. At this point we had been dating for 6 months. We arrived at Chez Charlene Wedding Venue and I fell in love immediately. He said: "this is the place i'd like to get married at" - bear in mind that this man had not even proposed yet :)
I was sold! The chapel is GORGEOUS with its white chairs, the mirrors on the sides, the chandeliers - the place needs no extra touch. The highlight is the CAKE CUTTING area wich is situated at an outside area which is different. The gardens with heart shaped trees, little waterfalls, benches and archs are just AMAZING. It's a dream. The reception halls also need no extras as the venue just comes complete. They throw in surprises which make your day extra special. The SERVICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. They coordinate your wedding and work well with your programe director!
The suites, OMG! The FOOD! Goodness! It's an excellent one stop shop for a special occasion.

I started a beauty regime at Skin Renewal Clinic in June 2018 where I did 4 week treatment and started using Lamelle skin care range. The glow is evident. I still continue with the monthly facials as they are just what a girl needs.
I also started with a personal trainer, Siko Nyati of PULSE and the results show.
My nails were done at Tammy Tailor nails.
Chez Charlene is a complete venue.
Our colours were white so our flowers were white lillies, white roses and white tulips. My bouquet was white and light pink peonies with white lilies. We added a touch of blue. These were done by Sphindile Mthethwa.
