Besides getting to marry my soulmate, the highlight of our wedding day was being surrounded by precious family and friends and the overarching feeling of love. We were blessed to have perfect weather and our vision of sitting outside watching the sun go down over the vineyards, followed by eating under the stars, became a reality. We had a fairly intimate wedding (70 guests) and really enjoyed the family style platters for mains which allowed guests to interact and share. Our family played a very special part in our day and having my Dad walk me down the aisle after being ill for some time was something I'll always treasure. Our son did such an amazing job as ring bearer and my niece sang for us during the ceremony. Another highlight was the beautiful speeches and not tripping over my long train when we danced!
Since quite a lot of family had travelled from overseas or other parts of South Africa (and our wedding was just before Christmas), we decided to just have a short local honeymoon. We stayed at Lavender Fields Guest House in Franschoek which was really stunning and relaxing!
I wanted to go for a dress that I could be comfortable in, whilst still feeling feminine and romantic. Rene from Rene H Couture created an ethereal dress with a fitted lace bodice and a flowy skirt made from layers of imported Chantilly lace and Italian tulle. The talented Clarita Smit did my hair and makeup and I opted for a natural glowy look and soft curls.

We got married at Haskell Vineyards. We were actually the first couple to ever book a wedding there and it was an absolutely perfect venue from a scenic point of view. We got married at a little chapel down the road and then had canapes and pre-drinks on the lawn at Haskell Vineyards, followed by dinner at their restaurant, The Long Table. They have limited accommodation so only family stayed over, and the rest of our guests stayed at surrounding wine farms and lodges.
I didn't really change much, I just followed my Environ skin care Regime, exercised as often as possible, and drank a lot of water.
Our decor was very simple and our colour palette was blush, white and greenery. We bought the glass candle sticks and candles, hired fairy lights and a few vases, and besides the bouquet, I did all the flower arrangements.
My husband wore a tailored navy blue suit, a white shirt, brown leather shoes, and we had ties and bowties made by a company called Stitched. Our Best man and ring bearer hired their navy jackets and coupled them with chino pants.
My Maid of Honor wore a blush/dusty pink infinity dress as we wanted to stick to natural earthy colours and our flower girls also wore pretty dusty pink dresses.

Our official photographer was Danelle Stofberg and our talented family member, Chelsey Sparks, also captured lots of special moments.
No haha... I planned almost everything, with the support of our Mom's :)
I just arrived in my parent's car as no one could see me enter the chapel area.
The amazing Chef Cornelle Minie who previously worked at Babel (Babylonstoren). Our decadent cake was made my Mareli from Cake Me Happy.
My husband is a designer so we did it ourselves and printed it on quality cotton paper.
We used Southern Sound and they were fantastic. Everyone loved the music and lighting!
