>The Highlights and Memorable moments of our wedding day is that for the past year I have been telling everyone that it will be raining on our wedding day (Because it’s a blessing from God) except for the two hours before and after the ceremony after that it will be stormy again, and just as it will be we got blessed with rains.
>We also said our own vows to each other in a private room, so that we can cry and get it over with so that no ugly crying faces will happen in front of our guests ha-ha, It was a special moment for both me and my husband because we spoke from our heart and made our very own promises to each other, in a private ceremony, because this is a joyful day filled with great emotion and love but we need to be smiling walking down the aisle.
> I also did not tell anyone that I will be washing my Husbands feet, I did so in the presence of God, his parents, our pastor and His wife, just before we left to be blessed with confetti by our waiting guests. This was my way of expressing my emotions towards Philip as he is the Head of our home and I submit to him as my Husband and will Honour him and keep on praying for Him as his wife.
> I also did not throw my Bouquet, I had wooden flowers made with the words Faith on them, I gave a flower to each and every single lady and little girl at the wedding with a prayer note attached. I believe that every lady should pray for her husband and put her Faith in God to provide her with the Perfect partner when His timing is right.
We wanted to go to Seychelles originally, but after careful consideration we decided to rather see our own beautiful country, so we did the whole garden route with the help of Ross-Lynn at Creative Honeymoon solutions. We wanted an adventure filled honeymoon and that is exactly what we got. We wanted to do things that we would not normally do and get out of or comfort zones and also conquer some of or fears. We stayed for two days in Oudtshoorn, and rode an Ostrich, and went to the Congo Caves, I also got the opportunity to Bottle fed a baby giraffe. After that we stayed at Forest Valley Cottages for three days, the most romantic setup and quite retreat filled with so much to do around Knysna. We then moved to Moon tide Wilderness Guesthouse where we stayed in a boathouse right on the lagoon for two days, we were treated like Royalty. Wilderness has the most Amazing views it makes you feel like you are in a complete different country. We stayed at Plettenberg Bay for two days where we just explored and soaked up the sun, we also stayed at Armagh Country Lodge where we went Waterfall Zip-lining as well as did the Kayak & Lilo Adventures at Untouched adventures, and of course did cliff jumping and ended our day with a complimentary Couples massage.
On the day that we were heading back home to Gauteng we decided we cannot leave without concurring the biggest fear of them all...Bloukrans Bungee, the highest Bungee bridge in the World 216M.
I’m a very plain person, No make-up jeans and fellies kind of farm girl. So for our wedding I wanted to wow everyone and do something completely unlike me. I had a costume made wedding dress designed by Mariska Pfahl couture, you can say it was something like a two tone dress in one.... I looked like a floating cloud coming into the church with very long and poufy kind of materials and for the wedding reception I just un-clipped the materials from the dress to transform it into an elegant evening dress, with lace coming down from the top. I will describe my dress as Beauty Queen with a dash of Flowers. My make-up and Hair was elegance and soft beauty. I had a lot of back detail to my dress so my Hair was taken up a bit with some curls and detail, my make-up was very Dark eyes so my eye color could pop as well as soft lips, still very natural with a bit of sparkle.
My wedding accessories was a gift from my step mother, I wore just the bracelet and earrings, Teardrops with diamonds and a small pearl.
We got married at a very good family friends Venue in Meyerton, Its Called Rivierplaas Wedding Venue, and just as the name explains, Its right next to the River on a farm with three Different Venues as well as two chapels. The Venue provides 12 Chalets as well as 3 honey moon suites, where our guests could stay the night
I am all about looking after your Body and skin on a daily basis and I know a lot of brides try and get everything into shape six months before the wedding or at least start getting everything in line but the true secret is to eat according to your blood type, I Live by this on a daily basis, taking in as little as possible sugar, and cutting out all bread like products. Drinking 2L Minimum water everyday on the hour, as well as get at least 40 minutes of exercise in everyday even if it is just walking around the block with the dog. You also need to get in at least 8 hours of sleep. All of the above combined will ensure you look at your best for your wedding day as well as after the wedding day. Go for a monthly facial, manicure and pedicure. And if need to start waxing 4 months before the wedding to ensure your skin doesn't get any allergic reactions to products used.
