Getting ready for the ceremony with my girls and our moms was just so relaxing and such a special time together.
A close family friend / colleague of ours officiated the ceremony and I just loved every moment of it. I was laughing non-stop and found myself looking around at the gathering of incredible people and feeling so incredibly lucky.
The speeches and formalities of the reception went on a bit too long and we only ended up opening the dance floor at around 10pm (leaving only 2 hours for the party). I was devastated that we would have to cut the party short, but a few of our friends put their credit cards down and made the party continue until 01:30 - it was the BEST party we've ever had and meant so much to us!
We went to Plettenberg Bay for few days and then spoilt ourselves for 2 nights at Lakeside Lodge and Spa in Sedgefield. It was absolute bliss!
I don't have much hair and considered getting extentions before the wedding. My hairdresser of 13 years, Yolanda Jooste (Embrace Hair & Beauty) had me coming in once a week for treatments (at no charge) to help repair it and speed up the growth. She ended up doing a down style with a side plait and some curls and then I had a rose gold flower crown, so that I felt like a princess :-)
My make-up was done by Claire Thorne. I went for a natural look with some pinks and then she did my eyes a little darker than the bridesmaids, so that they would stand out in the pictures. I also had eyelash extentions 3 days before the wedding, done by Melissa Tome (Embrace Lashes).
My dress was an impulse buy... I went to Bride & Co with my mom and sisters one day just to get the dress searching process started and get an idea of what I liked. Well, my dress so happened to have been on sale, so it was a done deal! I later had sleeves added. My shoes were also from Bride & Co (pointy toe with a cute little bow at the back and not too high for me).
