We had an entire wedding weekend and it was truly amazing.
Some of our guests arrived on the Friday before our wedding and we all had a braai together at De Uijlenes.
I woke up at about 5am on our wedding day and was filled with excitement and happiness. It was the day I get to tie the knot with my best friend on our 11 year anniversary; so it was a very special day for us.
We had a quick video call with my brother and his family who are in Canada just before we left for the ceremony, holding back tears was tough.
When I walked out to get into our wedding car, my amazing cousins husband arrange a very special car for us, their old school Mustang. I was so happy and fought back tears of joy.
We arrived at the ceremony area and I just wanted to get to the bottom of the aisle to see my husband, seeing him made me extremely happy and I was over joyed with pride. Of course fighting back the tears again.
Our ceremony was so on par with who we are as a couple and we were constantly laughing at what our officiator said. Our guests all commented on how awesome our ceremony was.
During the reception we had the Fast and Furious Tokoyo Drift song as our entrance song, it was the most fun walking in on this song.
Our MC had us playing a quick game which was so much fun.
Our first dance was absolutely memorable and loved every second of dancing with my husband.
A big highlight was when myself and my husband had an unplanned dancing moment on the dance floor. We were dancing as usual and all of a sudden we just started this unplanned dance. Our guests all made a circle around us and watched us continue our unplanned dance.
We closed off the evening singing along with Jesse Jordan around the bonfire.
We will only go on honeymoon next year sometime.
Our minimoon was celebrated at Woodlands Self Catering in Rheenendal just outside of Knysna.
We visited the Knysna Elephant Park, the Garden of Eden, the Garden Route Wolf Sanctuary and had dinner in Plettenberg Bay.
From my dress to my accessories and hair and makeup I wanted a very simplistic look and feel.
Averil at Brides of Somerset was absolutely amazing in helping me find my dress. I was at two other bridal studios and the style I wanted made me look terrible but with Averil's experience and guidance we found my dress. When I was deciding on what I wanted my requirements was minimal, it needed to have a low back and fit my body and have amazing detail with a beautiful train but not too long. It was the day before Christmas last year (2017) and she opened her studio for me because I was unsure of the dress I picked the day before. And there it was my dream dress by Enzoani blue the Kami. I chose my dress to be in Ivory/Sand.
When my dress arrived in April, it fitted perfectly. We only had to adjust the length and the one strap over my shoulder.
Brides of Somerset also assisted with my veil, it was a finger tip length and plain as to not distract from my dress.
I found my shoes at Aldo, when I saw them I knew they would fit with my dress perfectly. They were soft pink with floral pattern on them.
My hair piece was bought from Lovisa.
My Hair and Makeup was done by Liandi Ahlers (Webster). I wanted my hair to be in a loose bun style at the bottom at the back and she got this right immediately. When we did my hair and makeup trial I knew that I would look amazing on my wedding day. My makeup was very natural as I usually do not wear makeup besides eyeliner and mascara... And hubby isn't a big fan of makeup either hehe.
My earrings are from NWJ Jewelers.
The little butterfly bracelet was my something borrowed from my mom.
And my garter was specially made for me by my mom.
My engagement ring was designed by my husband and made by Van Deijl Jeweler in Somerset Mall.
My wedding band and husband's wedding band was made by Different By Design in Cape Town foreshore.

Our wedding was at De Uijlenes!
When my husband and I went to take a look at the venue last year December we knew that this was it.
I will never forget my then husband to be saying "this is the one, we getting married here" when we saw the tree at the ceremony area.
We got married at their Forest and Old Barn venue.
The entire De Uijlenes team was and is absolutely amazing. They helped out with arrangements without any questions. Myself and Christine did a lot of planning mainly via email and although most will find this daunting all I can say is that this was a breeze. Belinda then took over from Christine when they decided to only focus on their decor and cakes instead.
When we arrived on the Friday the venue was already setup and final touches would be made on the Saturday. I was already blown away by what I saw on the Friday.
The food was beyond amazing. We had the pork belly and chicken stuffed with feta and bacon with basmati rice, roasted potatoes and other veg. Everyone raved about the food and I can honestly say it was the best meal besides my hubby's of course.
Our guests made use of the accommodation on site and surrounding areas.
We also had our guests around from the Friday evening already and it was a wedding weekend to remember.
With two equally unique and different wedding venues on the farm to choose from and surrounded by glorious countryside, you will be blown away.
I am not the average girl with a hectic beauty regime, hehe.
I kept active and fit training at our local Virgin Active with my training buddy my mom :)
Our nails was done by Bella Mia in Strand, they are absolutely amazing and I love my wedding nails. Elana managed to capture the detail of my shoes in my nails and it looked stunning. All hand painted nail art.
We had a couples massage at Chameleon Wellness in Sanctuary Somerset West and I also did some tan can sessions with them.
De Uijlenes is such a beautiful venue that we did not want to distract from it at all so we kept everything to a minimum.
Husband and Wife Team did our flowers, decor and lighting besides what we already got from the venue.
Down in the forest we had small jars with some Gerberas, and greenery.
At the reception we mainly had greenery with some wreaths placed around the venue.
My bouquets was also wreaths with different flowers and greenery in them. The boutineers was kept to the same design with my husband's being slightly different to the rest of the wedding party.
My husband and his best man's suites was tailor made in Thailand. Our best man was in Thailand and had my husband's suite made for him. My husband's tie and pocket square was made specially for him by my mom.
My husband's shoes was from David Jones and their socks from Tread and Miller.
We had to video whatsapp call with the tailor and the suite was made perfectly.
The groomsmen suites and ties was hired.
My Bridesmaid dresses was made by my mom as well as our getting ready robes.
We decided on a similar style for all three of them but my maid of honours dress was a different colour with slightly different mesh.
Their hair and makeup was also done by Liandi Ahlers (Webster)
Our marriage officer was Morne Mundey.
He was absolutely amazing. All our guests said afterwards that he did an amazing ceremony and was stunned to hear that we had only met with him twice before the wedding.
He captured myself and my husband perfectly and we opted for a non religious ceremony as well.
We had a photographer and videographer for the day and our MC arranged a Photobooth for us.
Our photographer was Art Photo. Wendy and Ruan is an amazing husband and wife team. They ensured that we were always comfortable in front of the lense and we couldn't be happier with our decision to have gone with them.
Our videographer was Thalia & John Films. Thalia and John was a perfect fit with our photographers and we had the same feeling of comfortableness around them as well.
Our tap and snap Photobooth was a great hit with our guests as they could either leave a short video, do a boomerang or just take a photo to be shared with us afterwards.
The Chef at De Uijlenes and his team prepared our meal for us. Morne and his team are absolutely amazing.
My husband wanted to make sure that everyone had an amazing meal and a big party and well we achieved just that.
Our menu was pork belly with crackling separate and or chicken with bacon and feta stuffing and basmati rice. Other veg and salads was also available. Our dessert was our wedding cake and little chocolate mousse, peppermint, lemon mirangue or milktarts.
We opted for a Harvest table during predrinks instead of a starter.
Our cake was made by Christien from Husband and Wife Team.
We had a vanilla sponge cake with white chocolate and salted caramel filling with a buttercream finish.
Our meals and cake was absolutely delicious and our guests was full of compliments.

We had very minimal Stationery.
My table numbers was done by Kreatief in Somerset West.
My printing of the guest photo sharing details, table seating cards and names was done by a dear friend from CMYK Studios in Grabouw.
My mom made the hoop which we placed our table seating plan on.
Our wedding website was setup by myself on The Knot and it was one of the easiest and most user-friendly websites I came across to use.
Our dance lessons happened in our living room :)
A YouTube video and a few nights before the wedding and we made our first dance memorable.
The DJ was John & Thalia Music and we also had Jesse Jordan for predrinks and after the DJ stopped playing.
Majority of the lights was at the venue already but Husband And Wife Team supplied some extra fairy lights for us
