While we were exchanging our vows on the beach of Sodwana Bay, whales were breaching in the water next to our ceremony venue :)
Such a blessing from God. Wow!!
My husband said as he was watching me walk down the Isle along the beach, the whales were dancing in the water next to me.
*When I saw them I couldn't control my excitement and shouted out loud "Look at the whales!!!"
I decided to SURPRISE my husband with a Honeymoon to Thailand.
While doing my speech, I handed him a wooden box that says "And so our adventure begins... Du Plooy's est. 3 Nov '18"
Inside the box I had personalized airplane tickets, hotel reservations and luggage tags laser cutted on wood and a few snacks and small gifts.

He was so happy he started crying. .. again!
My husband and I love going on adventures, we love the outdoors and Sodwana Bay is one of our favorite holiday destinations, I always feel so close to God when when we are there... that's why we decided to get married on the beach, in Sodwana bay.
I felt like a princess, I had the wedding gown of my dreams made by my absolute favorite designer Marlize from Immagika creative designs. The most beautiful ballgown and the skirt was huge! 27m+ tule, glitter tule, french tule, detachable lace sleeves, a corset filled with crystals and a veil that swept over the sand behind me.
My hair was done with soft curls and braids and the look was completed with a stunning tiara - because every princess needs a tiara...
For the ceremony i wore feet jewelry instead of shoes and for the reception I had stunning silver stilettos on.

Some of our guests stayed over at a Day In Africa Lodge, we also had guests staying over at Visagie Lodge, Sodwana Bay Lodge.
I spent my last few days as Miss Van Greunen with my mom in a luxury apartment at Jesser Point Boat Lodge - The service at Jesser Point was absolutely fantastic.
I have always been very blessed with my skin, I didn't have any skin treatment's done.
Waxing was done at Sorbet in Carnival Mall (Synthia is THE BEST!)
My nails were done at Sam's Nails in Brenthurst, she works from home but also travels to your home / venue and she is absolutely amazing!
I always drink a lot of water but I drank even more water than usual in the months leading up to the wedding and I totally cut out sweet things for the last 3 months before the wedding :)
Getting married in Sodwana was challenging but with the help of our family and friends we pulled it off and had the most beautiful wedding ever!

Flowers - The bridesmaids each had a real Protea, I had a wooden protea which I decorated with photos of me and my hubby. I also had one photo hanging down the side of the flower of my parents on their wedding day. - I got my flower from Beetroot in Springs Mall.
The DJ supplied all the moodlights, hot ice machines, cordless microphone and speakers for the beach and so much more. He was fantastic! - Infinity times Infinity Productions.
The guy's were dressed in silver suits. Hubby looked so handsome I just couldn't take my eyes off him!
My bridesmaids were going to wear silver and Pink flowing dresses...
The company I used messed my ladies dresses up completely and we had only 1 day to find dresses for the wedding.
There's a saying that goes "Every lady must own at least one little black dress."
The little black dresses saved our lives this time... We paired it with silver jewelry and Pink ribbon belts :)
They looked stunning and all ended well :)

My father in law's Volo CX90 was our wedding car. Gorgeous car and drove like a dream on the beach.
For main course we had lamb stew served in little black pots with a colorful side salad, african style - Prepared by a Day in Africa Lodge.
I have an ice-cream obsession... We decided to do something different and had an Ice-cream Wedding Cake stand made.
I decorated the Ice-Cream cones with chocolate and flowers and Instead of cutting the first piece of cake togeter, We scooped the first Ice-Cream together.
Everyone LOVED the cake - and it doubled as desert :D

We took dance lessons at Kim From Posh Bods and loved it so much that we decided to continue with the classes after the wedding.
Our dance was gorgeous but feel like the lessons did so much more that create one beautiful dance, It just made me feel even closer to hubby... I love dancing with him :)
