Our wedding day was hands down the best day of my life. I had the privilege to have my loving mother whom is so close to my heart, with me while getting ready for my big day. We prayed together and our photographer was able to capture this beautiful moment just minutes before I walked down the isle.
I was the most luckiest bride to have my father, whom was my rock and superhero from the day I came into this world, to walk me down the isle.
When I saw my beloved groom standing at the altar, with his tear stained face and shy smile, our eyes locked and my heart skipped a few beats as I was overwhelmed by emotion and love for this man that I was about to marry. I felt the presence of God as I walked next to my Father down the isle on a song dedicated to Him.
Our wedding service was very memorable. We had a special moment where we had the chance to braid a chord with three strand as a sign of our marriage which is rooted in God and intertwined with Him (Ecclesiastes 4:12). We wouldn't have been there, getting married, if it wasn't for God whom have made and chosen us for each other and led us to each other.
Our reception was also very memorable. We had the privilege of having 94 family and friends attend our wedding. How awesome that so many people loves the two of us! We had friends that drove over 500km to be there.
The food was amazing - we decided to not do traditional wedding food. Instead we had a Mediterranean menu which included pizza and pasta. Our MC was very good at what he did and he handled the whole evening like a pro. Our first dance was super romantic and so so so special. And my groom's speech touched my heart deeply.
The whole day was just like I've always dreamed it would be. I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world and I enjoyed every moment of my wedding day.
Thailand - Phuket and Bangkok
The theme of the wedding was rustic romance. We had navy table cloths with centre pieces that differed from each other. We had a lot of eucalyptus leaves and wine red, orange and plum flowers. We had rustic tree stump name tag holders, a tree stump for letters and a cross with the same style as a guest book.
My dress was made by, according to me the best designer ever, designs by Marius. He also did my hair and his wife did my makeup. The dress was a floor lenght, trumpet style, lace dress with straps and I wore a matching veil. My shoes was silver with a lot of bling on them. I wore pearl earrings and my wedding ring is vintage, halo made of platinum with a cushion cut diamond.

Ok so, I didn't change my diet or try to get super skinny for the wedding because my husband accepts me as I am. However, my husband is a gym jucky, so I started to hit the gym with him from the month of May and it became our thing - our habit. Since then my body started changing for the better, little by little. We do weight training, which is really good to burn fat and tone your body.
I went for monthly facials 3 months prior to the wedding and I had my teeth whitened by Elzabe Gouws from Centurion.
I used my day and night cream (nivea) daily to ensure that my skin is soft and hydrated and I also increased my water intake a little to flush out toxins.
The theme of our wedding was: rustic romance.
The colour scheme was: wine red, plum, burnt orange and navy.
We had navy table cloths with center pieces that differed from each other in hight. We had 10 tables, meaning we had 5 tables with short flower and eucalyptus leave table runner center pieces and 5 tables with tall centerpieces which also carried a flower arrangement with eucalyptus leaves. We had glass underplates with silver cutlery. The nametags were mounted on small tree stumps and placed in front of each person's plate. We also had bigger tree stump slices (30×30 cm) each with a verse from 1 Corinthians 13. These stumps were also placed on each table, one per table.
Our guestbook was a cross made with small tree stump slices. Each guest wrote their name on a slice with a permanent marker. Together with this, each guest had a A5 paper on which they had to write a whish/advise/prayer which they had to through in our tree stump.
We had a A1 wooden board with the verse Ecclesiastes 4:12 and a three strand chord which we had to braid as part of the wedding ceremony. We had a lot of candles for lighting. Many pf these candles were in large consol jars and place on the steps to the reception. They were also used in the chapel down the isle with rose petals in our colors. My bridesmaids had wreath type of flower arrangements and my bridal bouquet was a combination of eucalyptus leaves and flowers in our chosen colors.
My groom wore a suit also made by Designs by Marius. He had a grey suit with a white shirt. He also wore a brown leather bow tie, brown leather belt and brown shoes from Green Cross. He had a pair of happy socks thay his neice bought at a shesha store in Sandton.
The groomsmen wore navy pants, and a matching navy floral tie and socks that were bought at Woolworths. They also wore white shirts and brown shoes.
My bridesmaids wore navy blue infinity dresses made by a local lady we know.

We chose J&D photography. They are the very best photographers i've ever met. Jaco (the main photographer) has an incredible talent - he classifies himself as a technical photographer but also incorporates the artistic elements of photography which results in the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen.
We did not make use of a videographer or a photobooth.
No. I planned everything by myself with the help of my incredible husband and mother
We did not make use of any transportation services.
The food was prepared by our venue - Tres Jolie.
The cake was made by Annies creation. We had a two tier naked chocolate cake with strawberry and white chocolate mousse filling, decorated with fresh berries. It was one of the most delicious wedding cake I've ever tasted. It was moist and tasted devine!
I have a friend that recently started her own business called Dazzle design. I was so happy with what she did for us. She made our wedding newsletter, our name cards and our seating chart. She really has an eye for these kind of things, and she understands what a bride wants. I was very happy with her work
Like I have mentioned before, our reception was very special and memorable. Our venue has a DJ that they work with. We were very happy with what he did. He read the atmosphere and the geusts very well. The also did the lighting for us, however we didn't have any additional lighting etc.
We did not go for any dance lessons. We picked our favorite song - Bones by Josh Record and we worked out our own routine. We met on the dance floor, thus this was not a difficult task for us to work our our own dance.
