Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! There were so many highlights but our favourites have to be our god daughter (who was supposed to walk in before the bridesmaids with a sign) falling asleep in my cousins arms during our pre-photos. Luckily he was wearing the wedding colours so he carried her (asleep) in to the church. Our next highlight was surprising my husband with our dog, who brought the rings into the church. He was absolutely thrilled to see her and have her as a part of the wedding. Our final favourite moment was surprising our friends with a dance. They came up with the idea to have my husband propose to me at their wedding so we decided to give them a piece of our wedding day as well. After the first dance, I announced that they would also be having a dance. They then danced to their wedding song.
For our honeymoon we decided to stay at lodges in the area for a few nights. We stayed at Misty Hills for two nights followed by Riverstone. My mom decided she wanted to treat us and paid for another 2 nights which we spent at a guesthouse.
I wanted my wedding look to be classic and natural. I bought my wedding dress second hand and had it altered to change the back from a train to a pearled clasp. My makeup was done by Blink and was done in purple hues and a natural face. My hair was in a loose bun with a stunning fishtail plat with a stunning rose gold hairpiece from Lovisa. I wore rose gold flats that I spotted at a shoe store. I wore earrings that I was given by my mom on for Christmas a few years back. I didn't wear any other jewelry besides my engagement ring.
We got married at the absolutely stunning Oakfield farm in the Dairy venue. We were looking for a stunning venue with amazing food and we found it at Oakfield. The staff were absolutely amazing and went out of their way to make our day special. We booked the guesthouse for our parents and our sister and God daughter. The next morning we all had breakfast together at Oakfield.

A few months before the wedding I started to watch what I eat and tried to keep my diet as healthy as possible (which was difficult considering my love for all things sweet). A few weeks before the wedding I drank at least 2 liters of water per day to ensure my skin was hydrated on the day. I also began a new skin routine with 2 exfoliation's per week and a daily face wash, serum and calming moisturizer.
I wanted to keep my decor as clean and simple as possible as the venue itself is already absolutely stunning and we wanted to showcase this. I wanted a classic look which matched our chosen wedding colours - mint and lavender. We used clear vases with latfolia and baby's breath. We also made use of the candelabra's from the venue. On the day there was a mishap with the decor and a family member (with a decor company - Planning Perfect) helped, last minute, with table numbers and bouquets for the front of the church.
The groom and groomsmen all wore grey pants with white shirts and grey suspenders. The groom wore a lavender tie and the groomsmen wore lavender bow-ties. We got the groom and groomsmen matching funky purple socks and they each wore a different marvel themed cuff link.
The bridesmaids all wore lilac dresses from Gelique. The dresses were long and covered in tulle. The bridesmaids wore earrings from Lovisa and silver heels that they each picked for themselves.
At Gelique we believe that your bridesmaids should look stunning and feel gorgeous on your big day!
Our marriage officer was Alan Childs. He officiated our friends wedding and we absolutely loved him and so decided to ask him to do our wedding as well.
We made use of an amazing photographer - August Photography. They brought so much joy to our day and were absolutely wonderful to work with. Their photos are stunning. They also provided us with a photo booth so that they guests could entertain themselves and these also served as the wedding favors.
I planned the wedding myself and with the help of my bridesmaids. We had a planner from Oakfield who helped with the planning and a coordinator on the day to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
The food was provided by Oakfield farm. We had an amazing four course meal, of which the numerous desserts was by far my favourite. We decided not to have a wedding cake due to the fact that there were so many desserts available.

Our reception was held in the Dairy at Oakfield Farm. We made use of a DJ - Nitelife. We could not take dance lessons as my husband had a knee surgery a few months ago and it is painful for him to dance. At the wedding we only did half of the first dance. We then had a father and daughter dance of which I danced the first half with my dad and the second half with my step dad. We then danced the rest of the night alternating between English and Afrikaans music.
