Our story began in November 2016 enjoying sushi, wine and a beautiful Cape Town summer sunset at Clifton 4th. We’ve since shared many similar evenings together, and often chatting until the early hours of the morning – sometimes serious conversations, sometimes laughing hysterically - and we've been beside one another ever since.
Stewart and I went to Europe for a holiday in January 2018. While I had my suspicions and was expecting a proposal, I did not know how or when. Stewart is a true romantic though and I knew he would want to make it special...in true style, on a cold winters evening in the middle of Amsterdam, he hired a boat and invited me onto a private canal cruise during the Amsterdam Light Festival. He had arranged Gluwein for the ride to keep us warm, along with Champagne and blankets - there was the chance of rain expected but it held out just long enough. When we got near to Magere Brug (one of the many bridges crossing the Amsterdam canals), the skipper stopped the boat and Stewart pulled out the ring and proposed on one knee while telling me a romantic story about the history of the bridge.
