No, no honeymoon yet. Planning on maybe going at the end of 2019 to the Island of Madeira for New Years with my grandparents.
I wore a beautiful ivory A Line lace dress with a sweet heart bust sprinkled in a little sparkle. The dress was lent to me by Marie Mulder(South African Artist) but the dress was originally purchased from Pebbles.
My make up and beautiful soft tan was done by Wilma Cronje. We went for a slightly darker eye with bronze hugues and a soft pink almost nude lip. The spray on tan was amazing and none of it rubbed off on the dress.
The accessories were all sentimental. My shoes we given to me by my grandmother probably 9 years ago. My jewelry was given to me by my mom and dad when i tured 21, which has my birthstone in it.
My hair was done by my Aunt Connie from CJ’s Hair Salon (well known around Goldwell). The day was windy so we went for an up do with two thick braids along each side and into a bun at the back.
My veil - it was my moms when she got married so i just had to use it.
The garter and lingerie was given to me by my mother inlaw as my “something new”
We got married at the beautiful venue of Kleingeluk wedding venue and chapel in Hartenbos, western cape.
A stunning sekluded venue with a rustic feel with the mountains as a backdrop.
Im a minamalistic woman. No special treatments before the wedding but i got my nails and lashes done by Janiene Du Preez (honestly the most down to earth lady i have ever had the privilege of meeting)
Hubby and i are avid gym goers so there was a lot of training and some diet involved to look my best ( but still healthy) for my wedding day.
I wanted something elegant but with a pop of colour. Werner from Weddings by CW helped me plan out my decor and brought my crazy ideas to life.
We went with soft pinks and blue. We were worried it was going to look like a baby shower, but wow it just turned out beautiful. We incorporated silver to break the colours and of course enough greenery and white elements to make everything sing.
We had a small wedding party so we went with round tables with large clear vases for the centrepiece. We placed small lights(that changed colours) at the bottom and a form of reflective paper inside the vase so that when the lights were on it would look like water in the vase.
The tables were covered in white cloth with two sets of runners - one in pink and the other in a baby blue almost green colour.
We had fairy lights EVERYWHERE and little floating candles hanging from the ceiling.
The chairs were tiffany white with white and silver bows accross the back.
The men wore navy blue suits and because they are quite large muscular men, we had to find someone who could tailor their suits for them.
Chantelle was incredible and so affordable. She has a large variety of suit colours and sizes and then arranges that the suits are tailored to each man. Everything was hired, from the shirts to the ties and suspenders.
Wonderful material and excellent service.
The bridesmaids wore a dusty pink long dress with lace upper bodice and a sash at the waist. Both dresses were hired from Bridal Inn in George (western cape)
O gosh where do i even begin with the Photographer!! Liezel is AMAZING! So friendly and genuine and so professional.
She captured silly moments, intimate ones and braced the hectic winds with us like a trooper. She managed to guide us in the wind to caputre images that are just breathtaking with the evening sunset.
Goes without saying - but i would recommend her to anyone for weddings, portrait sessions of family photos.
Just incredible. Thank you Liezel!!
Yes!! And what a blessing it was to have Werner, from Weddings by CW, help plan my special day!
Could not have asked for anyone better to bounce crazy ideas off of.
We used our own transportation. No one saw me arrive or saw hubby and i leave LOL
The food was AMAZING!! Almost every guest went back for seconds.
Werner’s partner, Carel, made the food after hubby and i selected what we wanted for each course. The cake was outsourced as we wanted a specific cake topper to be made.
All stationery and printing was done again by Werner from Weddings by CW.
Truly an artist and always runs the idea past you first before going ahead with anything.
We changed things up a bit at the reception as hubby and i have two left feet. We practiced on our own without dance lessons.
As we made our entrance we did our first dance. Had speeches and then played a game.
It was so entertaining to watch everyone laugh with us and dance and just have a good time.
All sound and lighting was arranged by the Wedding planner, Werner from Weddings by CW. He arranged the DJ as well although we did give him a few songs we wanted incorporated into the “vibe” of the evening.
